[ piter awakes in the body of the duke leto atreides— the man that he has for so long been plotting against, the man whose house piter has for so long been trying to destroy. there is nothing he would enjoy more than to torture this man, to see this body and its line destroyed, pushed from some high eyrie to its death— and yet, here it is, under his command.

the atreides insignia blazes red on his breast as he goes about his business, and he is not ashamed. the irony of it all is delicious to him. that the duke's form should be so misused, issued to the harkonnen mentat that has engineered his death, is utterly sublime. and so he walks quite proudly in the green and black and red of the atreides, with the ducal signet glimmering on his hand and the duke's eyes shining clear and gray beneath his brow, a far cry from piter's whiteless blue-in-blue.

a mile is not quite enough for piter; he'll be wearing out leto's shoes, walking around marina in this utterly unfamiliar form and seeing to his duties as always. he'll be all over the dome, mostly hanging around in the school, the tox room, and streamline complexes. perhaps he'll even be paying a visit to sector four for a jaunt through quatro park, the place where the lady jessica first arrived. she was, after all, the duke's concubine. ]

[Sam—in Angel's vampire body—hears the heartbeat first. That pulsating sound, calling him closer as he tells himself to go the other way. He doesn't recognize the man he finds, but that shouldn't matter. It's dangerous to be this close when he's hungry, but he needed to put the sign up cancelling his class. So here he is in a not-quite-empty-enough hallway in the educational center. What will they learn from this?]
