Evening 241 } Action } Open Mingle
[ As mentioned by the wardens yesterday, Eric is hosting a costume party. The Blood Shack is lit by candles for the evening (he remembers the last party he had being interrupted by a power outage) and a small buffet of sorts has been erected. It furnishes mostly hors d'oeuvre and finer foods, things that Caroline picked out as Eric hasn't a clue about human food.

There is blood on tap (naturally) as well as a full bar. Eric has made certain to include water, sodas, tea and various non-alcoholic drinks.

The jukebox is playing a variety of music, but patrons are always invited to pick out their own music. The dance floor has a disco ball and there's the ever present 'dancing' pole on stage if someone gets brave. Tables are scattered about as are sofas and chairs so that people have a choice where they sit.

Enjoy yourself, mix, mingle and admire everyone's costume and everyone is required to have a costume in order to be here. ]

	[Michiru was excited for this party. It was THE first time she was going to be able to show off the fact that her partner was here. After they had gotten settled, she'd remembered about the party and they had gone out to get costumes that matched... at least somewhat. So Michiru is walking around the party dressed as a mermaid. Hopefully she can get Michiru alone eventually - she has something to discuss with her - but for now she's happy to just glide along at the other woman's side, arms linked slightly possessively, smiling at everybody without a clue who here might be important to her partner. ]

This place certainly knows how to welcome a person.

It certainly does. This isn't typical, but the host has been planning it. Just happened to correspond with the new arrivals day.

	Playmates is probably a better word, but they keep running off on their own to play. [A smile appears over her face as the song begins and Haruka takes her hand. [ This is going to take some maneuvering. Haruka presses Michiru even closer with the one hand still occupied by the dance, cheek-to-cheek as her free hand fumbles in her pocket for the rings she'd purchased earlier. She manages to push one onto her own finger by shoving it back into her pocket, while the other....

...she gently slides onto Michiru's finger before taking her hand again. It's nothing extravagant, just a plain gold band with a tiny pearl, but the detail was enough to make the set stand out. ]

I'm sorry. I couldn't stop thinking about it. But we're together for good this time, and...

[ Oh, wait. ]

...you can open your eyes now.

[Michiru keeps dancing with her, staying close to her. As promised, she kept her eyes closed, though she was sorely tempted to peak and see what Haruka was doing. She'd only been her a few hours after all.

She could tell when the ring was slid on her finger, but she was good and didn't look... at least until Haruka told her to open her eyes. She opened her eyes and smiled seeing it]

Oh, Haruka, it's gorgeous! Thank you so much!

[And now for the hug]

[ Haruka chuckles, twirling so even their embrace gets incorporated into the dance. Her own finger now sports an identical ring. ]

Careful. The powers that be might get the wrong idea.

[ Says her mouth, while her eyes say everything from "you're welcome" to "sorry to be so maudlin" to "I'm just so glad we're together". And now that they're pressed this close, she has no intention of changing their position. ]
