day 225 | xiii ❧ potluck mingle!

[ this is her first time doing one of these without gran, and something she thought was going to be difficult for those very reasons is actually rather therapeutic, heartwarming -- a glance back at her roots, back when she was just adele stackhouse's weird granddaughter and not that fae who mingles with vampires. sookie contributes a few dishes from her gran's old recipes, along with something lafayette taught her to make. she's got all the tables in this part of trois park covered with checkered table clothes of varying colors, lots of plastic silverware, paper plates, cups, and napkins at the ready, and a stack of picnic blankets folded up on one of the benches for those who wish to sit on the grass instead of at a table. sookie even brought a long a mesh bag full of sports equipment -- or rather, a couple frisbees, a football, soccer ball, basketball, and even some hacky sacks. (she's not the sports type, but jason would always be off playing something with the other guys.)

hopefully she didn't leave anything out. hopefully this will help cheer everyone up some, both the new arrivals and those still dealing with the days they spent in that other prison. ]

	Compulsion doesn't always work here, remember? [Yeah she is not acknowledging the part about Matt there Damon, even if there might be some truth to it. I know. It's tough work. You'd think a prison would have more susceptible idiots. [ He totally noticed her avoiding the subject of Matt, but surprise, surprise -- he's not about to push it. Last thing he wants is to be stabbed with a fork. He's got his favorite shirt on today. ]

Guess I shouldn't bother supplying the vervain in this place.

Then again, better to be safe than sorry. Never know when your crazy hybrid brother might show up again.

[It's something she worries about actually. She has a life here and back home -- well to say she and Niklaus had been on bad terms was an understatement, to say the least.]

Did you? [It actually doesn't surprise her, Damon cleans house, why wouldn't he cook? He seems the domestic sort.]

Now I'd offer to teach you, but the thought of you holding a kitchen knife anywhere near me gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I know how to cook. [Or she did at one point -- you know back when cooking was done over fires in pots and things like that.

It's the modern appliances that throw her for loops.

And she's aware of the food thing, she picked Matt up burgers more than once before their study sessions. Those new memories she got a few days ago are filled with all sorts of interesting little details.]

You make me sound dangerous or something. I'm sure you wouldn't give me any reason to use it for anything besides it's intended use.

Honestly? The idea hadn't crossed my mind at all. [Though those new memories did include some more recent dalliances with Stefan, it's hardly where her interest is in the moment.]

If anything, she seems to be the one who has issues with things.

[Things included that busboy they keep skirting around. The same one who almost ended up on the morning announcements with Rebekah the same day as Caroline and Stefan.]
