Day 222 — Mandatory activity mingle
[ It's a wonderful, stormy day here in Squall Asylum and vacation time is officially over! Your gracious overlords have worked out a light itinerary for you today and they expect you to keep it.

Get in line to pick up your food rations for the day. Eat breakfast if you have time for it, or perhaps you'd rather skip this one time and save yourself the discomfort during the two hours of exercise that follow. Jogging, jumping jacks or perhaps impromptu team sports, whatever you end up doing you bet you'll come out exercised in the end!

Should you not want to participate... well. We have ways to make you join in. Anyone reluctant to get their heart rate up will get a helpful electric prod by one of the bots until they comply. Tough cookies.

Luckily you'll get a chance to wash off that sweat (hope you're not shy, the wash room can get crowded) before it's time for the silent game for an hour, followed by lunch. The day is not over yet though! There's still time for a couple of hours of hard labor tending to the crops, doing laundry or perhaps breaking bricks in the yard. To make sure none of the inmates are broken this is also the time for mandatory physical checkups — bots will guide you to the hospital. No ifs or buts. The violation of personal privacy is for your own good, we promise.

[Teeth baring. That's never a good way to start a conversation. Wide-eyed, Dawn puts her hands up in an 'I'm harmless, see?' kind of gesture. That is until he tells her she actually should be sorry. It takes her a moment to muster all the bravado she can, eyes narrowed, chin lifted, hands on her hips.]

Hey, rude much? Like you haven't ever accidentally stepped on someone's toes before. Besides, I can't help it if you were so still you blended into the wall.

[ as a matter of fact, he only steps on toes on purpose. but he lets out a wheeze of a laugh at what he considers to be a most pitiful show of bravado, like that of a kitten playing at being fierce. ]

Perhaps I was still for a reason. [ he wants to hiss you foolish, insolent girl, but stops himself, straightening as regally as he can and putting some effort into unrustling his jimmies. ] And perhaps you should not be so unobservant. [ though that comment about stillness was almost a compliment. good to know that his assassin skills are still quite polished, even now. ]

[It is so much false bravado, it's not hard to imagine that Piter sees right through it. She's learned that false bravado can get you far in many scenarios though, apparently not in this one. Still, she maintains it for now. The smart thing would probably be to walk away from a dangerous situation, but Dawn was never very good at being smart when danger was right in front of her. She was kind of a danger magnet, actually. And years of watching her sister battle the forces of evil gave her a hero complex that sometimes went beyond doing the smart thing.]

I can be as observant as I want. Besides, I was looking for someone. You know, cause freaky minimalist prison means it's good to keep the people you know close? My sister, Buffy, maybe you know her? She who kicks both evil and rude in the backside? [It's not really a threat. Or maybe it is, vicariously. She's used to evil running away when she plays the 'the Slayer is my sister' card as well. Whether that will work here, well...]
