Day 222 — Mandatory activity mingle
[ It's a wonderful, stormy day here in Squall Asylum and vacation time is officially over! Your gracious overlords have worked out a light itinerary for you today and they expect you to keep it.

Get in line to pick up your food rations for the day. Eat breakfast if you have time for it, or perhaps you'd rather skip this one time and save yourself the discomfort during the two hours of exercise that follow. Jogging, jumping jacks or perhaps impromptu team sports, whatever you end up doing you bet you'll come out exercised in the end!

Should you not want to participate... well. We have ways to make you join in. Anyone reluctant to get their heart rate up will get a helpful electric prod by one of the bots until they comply. Tough cookies.

Luckily you'll get a chance to wash off that sweat (hope you're not shy, the wash room can get crowded) before it's time for the silent game for an hour, followed by lunch. The day is not over yet though! There's still time for a couple of hours of hard labor tending to the crops, doing laundry or perhaps breaking bricks in the yard. To make sure none of the inmates are broken this is also the time for mandatory physical checkups — bots will guide you to the hospital. No ifs or buts. The violation of personal privacy is for your own good, we promise.

Isn't it nice, being in prison? ]

[exercise]

[Tear's found herself a patch of field mostly away from where others are and is doing sit-ups at a rather overzealous pace, her hair messily tied back to understandably keep it out of her way during this. She's not one to slack off even if she doesn't want to do the work, and always gives her all during training, but you don't have to know her to see she's toed over the line and into the area of pushing it-- it's clear to anyone with eyes.

She spares a glance every so often to where Euphemia is, or was when she last looked, hoping that the guards will be enough to keep her from hurting anyone. Not that she wants the poor girl subjected to force and being tasered, but the less she has to concern herself with at the moment, the better. If she can just devote herself fully to physical activity, she can empty her mind and not have to think.

[ being surrounded by people whose thoughts are completely closed off to her is as alarming as it is soothing — though the silence she often longs for in the face of telepathic chaos ringing, shouting, and screaming inside her head does little to comfort someone who is so used to listening in. people's thoughts are like background noise to her, like the whirring of a fan might be to someone else. not hearing anything at all makes her overtly aware of the silence, and makes it difficult to concentrate on meditating like she's supposed to be doing.

giving up, sookie flops back into the grass, covering her face with her hands. she grunts, frustrated. ] I can't do this.

[The verbal outburst draws her attention, pausing her over-activity for the moment. And normally, she wouldn't hesitate much over stopping and inquiring, especially when the woman seems frustrated, but... after this morning, a part of her simply wants nothing to do with others. It's not strong enough to win against her nature, though, so she settles upright properly, folding her legs under her as she eyes the girl a few feet away from her on the lawn, air distinctively stoney and rather detached.

Concentrating on others' problems will keep her mind from her own. Hopefully]

	[She's actually never heard that, but she's not about to argue the point] I'm sorry that it's bothering you so badly, then. [It comes out more mechanically than she normally would be, though it's not insincere] But at least it's probably safe to assume that in a day or two, things will-- be back to before.
