[Day 217] [Video|Action|Open] [Movie Marathon!]
[It's a rainy day, but Richie is in a good mood because kung fu movies at the theater. Best kind of way to spend the day. But it's not as fun doing it alone when you can do it with friends or random strangers. Especially when it's the kind of movies you can laugh about because they're so terrible they're great. It's early afternoon and he's loitering a bit in the lobby before getting on the network.]

It's dreary outside, but that doesn't mean we can't do something fun, right? If they're going to show kung fu flix, we should be taking advantage of it. Watching classic kung fu with the terrible voice overs is almost as fun as watching cheesy horror movies. Anybody want to join me? We can make a marathon of it. Ko, bro, you should definitely swing by.

If you get here soon you'll catch the big end fight of The Booming Insect, and you won't miss the beginning of Master of Swinging Death Trap.

{OOC: Come on and all to the movie mingle! These two movies shown above and these other three are the ones Richie will be watching. Anyone is welcome to join and mingle amongst themselves. If you want to speak to Richie direct just tag action or video on the thread I'm including below.}

[Richie turns to look at the guy coming his way with a smile and a nod.]

As much as anyone could, anyway. I just thought it would be cool to watch a bunch of movies together. Name's Richie.

Aidan. [ Smiles a-brightening! ] It was a good idea... it ain't always easy findin' somethin' to do when it's rainin' like this.

Yeah, the rain can really bum you out if you don't have something to keep your mind off of it. Video games around here only last as long as it takes to beat the highscore.

[He holds up his bag of popcorn and drink before motioning towards to theater doors.] Ready to head in before the movie starts without us?

Oh — sure thing. Wouldn't want that. [ A little sheepish. Theater-wards they go! ]

[Richie just grins. The theater for this one is not that full yet, maybe because there are still people out in the lobby.]

Oh, this is The Spear of Hell! Kind of cheesy, but a good one.

You've seen it already? [ Not that there's anything wrong about seeing a movie twice, he's just surprised. ]

I've seen more than a couple in my life, so a few of the names are kind of familiar. Kung fu movies have a kind of cult following back home. They're the classics that are so bad they're good.

Y'know, someone else said somethin' like that to me not long ago... you know a kid called Jake English?

Jake? Nope can't say I have. [He winks.] But he must be a man of good tastes. Trust me, you'll understand when you see it.

[He takes a seat toward the back because it's always better sitting in the back and getting the full view of the screen.]

I think you'd like him. He told me once there're no such thing as bad movies, they're all good in their own way. [ It's awkward to not go sit together now, isn't it? He follows, sinking down into a seat next to Richie. ]

That is a man who knows his stuff. [Richie grins when he sits down, because why split up if they're already talking?] Don't worry, I promise I'll keep the commentary to a minimum for the good parts. If I get to chatty just tell me to shut up.

That's alright. I mean, I trust you to let me know which parts I shouldn't miss.
