Hate to break it to you babe, but I'm not drowning
Who: Cheyenne and Cole
Where: SOHS counselor's office
When: Fifth period
"Now just sit there and don't... do anything until Ms. Winters is ready for you." The vice principal declared, looking a little harried as he backed away behind his desk, like it would do him a bit of good if Cole decided that he wanted to do anything like what he had in class then there was nothing that a desk could do to stop him. Maybe a wall. So he just rolled his eyes and lounged back on the chair with a bored look on his face, clinking his necklace to see how long it took before he irritated the man into telling him to be quiet.
Cole had not intended to make today a 'problem day' as they had been called in the past. He had just meant to come to school, behave himself as well as he ever did before he went home. But his choice of outfit had apparently been just too much for the jocks and they had decided that today was as good a one as any to mock him for it. Had they just kept it up for a bit then Cole would have reacted like he had every other time. Every other time before the Light of May and that talk with Niamh about how hey, why not use his telekinesis for his advantage? They liked to use their muscles against him and he was sure that he had spent as long practicing his skills as they had theirs, only his did not show up just because he walked around wearing a tight shirt. Only today they had kept it up and one of them, by the misfortune of having a class with a teacher who assigned seats by last name, sat behind him. Cole had managed to last through about the first ten minutes of class before he had snapped and the entire class knew he had because his book had gone flying up before crashing down on Josh's head. Then it had done it again and Josh's book had gotten up to join in when Cole whirled around to focus on him. The blue-haired boy had no idea how long it had gone on before his concentration had been broken by the teacher screeching at him, the books spinning out of control before dropping to the floor. His mom was not going to be impressed when someone got hold of her; even if Cole was pretty sure that she would have been happy to freeze Josh's feet to the floor for the things that he had been saying.
Okay, so it was not just Josh's behavior that had set him off. A lot of it had to do with Locke. The blond had had no right to come to his house the other day even if he had been there with Bunny and he had even less right to keep on existing in the same space. He was a liar and Cole wanted nothing to do with him. Except... He frowned and tugged harder at his gloves, running his fingers over the slight bulge on one. The silver cross ring was more of a joke than anything and he had every intention of flashing it at Darklis if he saw her. But apparently vampires did not spend lunch period eating with everyone else since they ate... other things. Feeling eyes on him, Cole glanced up and glared when he saw the vice-principal watching him like he was going to try stealing something. He looked away quick enough when the file cabinet started to bang around and Cole grinned smugly before letting it stop. Look at me again, why don't you. I want to see how far your computer will go. If he was going to get in trouble - which he was sure would come after he had his 'chat' with the counselor - then he was going to make sure that it was at least worth the time it was taking out of class. I need to add another tally to how many times I've been sent to the counselor. Sometimes it was even just in case he 'wanted to talk'. Please, he had friends and even lacking those he had a mother.
Still, there were worse people in the school than Ms. Winters.
