"Thank you," Taking a compliment from a student was definitely acceptable, even if said student was in trouble. And besides, she had tried a little extra that morning, despite how late she was running. She smiled pleasantly as she stretched her arm under the desk, fingers grazing the cup and sending it rolling out of the other side. She nabbed it up and returned to her feet, scooping up the pencils on her desk and setting them back in the holder. Once the writing utensils were back in their place and the holder was on the corner of her desk, she returned to her seat and straightened out the hem of her dress. The whole time she listened as Cole spoke. He had spent quite a bit of time in her office, which meant a couple of things. One, that he was rather troubled and no amount of counseling could really help and two, that she knew quite a bit about him. Where other teachers and the principal tended to lose their temper with him, Cheyenne remained calm and tried to talk to him and treat him fairly. He deserved fairness at the very least.
"What'd he do to start it this time?" She really didn't have to ask, the sight of the pink behind his jacket and the necklace he was wearing. It was tragic that students like Cole couldn't dress how they wanted without getting grief from someone else. It was different, but she felt as though she could sort of relate with how she glamoured her fangs and her food to keep from being sold out as a vampire at the school. Granted words against her and words against Cole's wardrobe were two totally different ball parks. Crossing her legs and sliding her chair under her desk, she propped her elbow up on the table. "If I could do more, Josh would be in here too, you know. Instigating makes him just as guilty as you are for retaliating." It was a little funny how she everything she said was light and pleasant, but was completely honest at the same time. "What happened?" Maybe it was seeing Cole in her office so often that gave her a soft spot for the teenager, or maybe it was his personality in general, but Cheyenne hated seeing other students in trouble because they were provoked into an argument.
