Labyrinthine

( The morning after. )

Jaycee knew there would be increased security at the compound since they'd gotten a godly visitor but she hadn't expected to be run through such a gamut of poking and prodding, questioning and ID flashing.

And chipping.

She was still wincing about that as she wandered further into the area, looking for anyone she knew, smiling at some who had known her parents.

She finally spotted a familiar blond head and hurried to catch up with her. "Hey Nikki!"

It was almost the end of the night at the Well, and as usual, it had been busy. Jaycee lifted the gate and stepped behind the bar with her tray, surveying the room to make sure she hadn't forgotten anyone.
