Dino Island: IC

Jedidiah had been in a light slumber when she was suddenly jolted awake when the plane shuddered and rocked after the engines drew in a few of the flying beasts that had attacked the metal bird who had intruded upon their territory. Jedidiah, though, took that actuality as a rough bout of turbulence. At least she did until the voice of the captain filtered through to announce differently. She barely had time to react. Prepare herself for the impact that was seconds ahead when the plane would land violently without the assistance of the engines that would have softened everything upon landing upon solid ground. Her body thrown about within the seat, the US Marshal kept in place by the sole strength of the buckle that had been secured around her waist. Jedidiah, though, would still have bumps and bruises about her body as a result of the traumatic crash landing that had brought the plane and its passengers and crew down on the island.

As water pooled around her boots, seeping in through the cracks in the body of the plane, Jedidiah released herself from her seat, standing in a moment of unsteadiness to scan the interior of the plane to note if any needed assistance. If any injured might needed to be helped off the plane. Most she could see were already being helped from their seats and guided over to the available exits. A path she would be following once she had been able to locate her carry-on bag, hopefully with all its contents still intact, and dry.

Night fell early on the island. The first rumble in the darkness could have been thunder; there were clouds in the sky. Yet, there was no thunder that resembled the - was it a roar? An engine? Whatever had caused the noise, it was loud enough to wake even the deepest sleepers. Silence lasted long enough for roused sleepers to fall back to slumber. Then, something not-quite-screamed, and maybe-a-roar answered seconds later. The conversation, if it could be called that, continued throughout the night, damning more than one survivor to restless sleep: if they were able to sleep at all.

Mod Note: Have your characters react how they will, but at this point, there is nothing to indicate to the survivors that they are on an island with dinosaurs, or that those are what are making the noises.

He liked to think that he was a dutiful boyfriend, but Emmett also had to be a dutiful flight attendant. There had been an emergency situation, and his priority--once he had seen that Caitlyn was alive and moving--had been taking care of the passengers first. But once they were all off the plane and he could find no one else that needed tending to immediately, Emmett made a bee line for his girlfriend. Their relationship was supposed to be a secret, but in that moment, he didn't care.

"Cait," he sighed in relief as he jogged up to her. "Are you all right?" He held out a large arm to her.

It was 3:00am and, aside from the background rumble of the engines, things on the plane were fairly quiet. Many passengers were taking in a nap while they could, though plenty were still awake, either because they couldn't sleep or were unwilling. Emmett decided to make some rounds in case one of the wakeful patrons needed him.
