Charlie's meeting had turned into a dinner. It always did. First Ginny said it didn't feel right without food, then Molly decided to bake a casserole, then Fleur wanted to bring a French dish that was a little lighter and soon it was a feast. Charlie put off the news until he'd slowly taken in his glass of wine.

When dinner was winding down, though, he knew the time had come.

"Alright," he said, standing up. "I guess it's time I stop putting it off. You all know I've been struggling since Penny. So I need a change... I took a job overseas teaching. Salem. I start Monday."

WHAT: Christmas Presents from the Potters!

NOTE: All letters are written on the interior of a Christmas card with a cover that features Ginny, Harry, James, and Snitch in front of the Christmas tree. James is dressed up like a little Santa, and Snitch is wearing reindeer antlers because Ginny is cheesy like that.

Charlie had already finished one and a half glasses of fire whiskey, straight, by the time Penny arrived. He was nearly done the second and starting to feel a pleasant tingle in his lips and fingers. His brain was just finding that brief lag behind his eyes. It was wonderful.

"Fuck Goblins," he mumbled to himself, "Greedy, tiny, creep bastards."
