From the latin "magicus", meaning "magical" and "extremus" meaning "extreme".
Do you miss writing in the Harry Potter universe? Do you miss being able to spend time on character development while also having the opportunity to have fun? Tired of worrying about if a game will live longer than a month? Us too! Magicus is a game with multiple goals; last long, encourage creativity and do it all in the magical world of Harry Potter. We are a modern day Harry Potter roleplaying game for original characters only. The day to day lives of witches and wizards are unique and Magicus is your chance to write one out. We are here to provide writers with an environment in which they can be creative and original. Magicus does not have one over-arching storyline plot. In lieu of this, we will be launching what we call "mini-plots". Certain events and situations will take place in the Wizarding World for a set amount of time. This will provide the community an opportunity to plot heavily with one another, put their characters through some drama and fluffier moments. There will be many different ideas implemented here for a different roleplaying experience! Activities will include regularly scheduled ooc discussions about our characters and a chance to discuss their personalities, histories and quirks. After two failed attempts to complete a study, the Management are on their last strike with the higher ups. This time, they're going to finish. This time, things are going to be a little different. This time, they'll get it right.

You've been chosen to participate in a social experiment orchestrated by The Research Department. When you awaken in the woods, you might feel a little woozy and disoriented, but you'll find yourself free of injury (unless you count that little point of injection on the side of your neck). You're in the woods and you're in whatever clothes you were last wearing. Beside you is a small box with a little silver plating on which there is a label that reads:

Premise

Welcome to Borealis! You have been chosen as part of an experiment which will make itself clear at a later time. We realize that this has been done against your will, and we would apologize for any inconvenience - except that we aren't really sorry at all. Please do not try to escape. The closest town is almost a thousand miles away, and you will certainly perish in the wilderness long before then, and force us to take the time to select another participant. Trust us, the paperwork for such a thing is truly daunting! If by some chance you do not die in the wild, we will send the Creatures after you. I assure you that they have not eaten in a very long time and will be more than glad to see that you remain where you belong.

If you do not have a roommate yet, trust that one will be arriving soon. There is some food in the pantry, but eventually you will have to find a way to acquire it yourself. The same with the wood - some is chopped for you by the toolshed, which should keep you warm for several days, but not beyond. You cannot expect us to do everything!

The television will pick up shows for your entertainment - but there will be no news or anything that would assist you in escape. Likewise, the computer will access any site that you desire, but you cannot upload anything - there is no way for you to reach the outside world, only to observe it.

If you have any questions or concerns, it is truly better that you solve them for yourself, as we have neither the time nor the inclination to do so.

Wanted Characters

[info]borealismod is looking for a huge variety of characters! We are a brand new game (opening December 1) and hope to have a wide variety of characters by then! We would especially like to see characters from the following fandoms:

  • Harry Potter
  • The Hunger Games
  • The Maze Runner
  • Otherworld/Bitten
  • The Lorien Legacies
  • Vampire Academy/Bloodlines
  • And many many more! We accept almost all fandoms (check out the site for the few exceptions!) and we are an enthusiastic and welcoming community!

A few things...

  • We're sorry, but because of the mature themes of this survival based game, we do not accept players under 18 years old.
  • While we reject only two fandoms outright (Fifty Shades of Grey and Flowers in the Attic), there are some fandoms that will simply not be appropriate for this setting. This will be decided on a case by case basis, and you will have a chance to convince us. :)
