Boston, Massachusetts—Once the rallying point for those yearning for freedom and an end to oppression. These days Boston plays host to a different kind of downtrodden soul. These people are known as Changelings—humans spirited away by the cruel, twisted creatures known as the True Fae. Don't be deceived—these faeries are the furthest thing from Tinkerbell, and their once prisoners are now on the run from the twisted Wonderland known as Arcadia.

The citizens of the Beacon Freehold are free for now—free to try to fit the tarnished pieces of their humanity back together and to come to terms with what they have experienced. But though they may have temporarily outrun their captors, the fear of the True Fae is never far behind them, and no Changeling can be sure if their freedom will last, or if the man who sells them out won't be their best friend...

Blame it on poor leadership, or America's need for excess. To claim ownership of those material things; the water and land and resources. That which wasn't always ours to gather up and put our name on. This wasn't just our world to use up, abuse and strip and mine. As humans, we were doing little to make a better world for all that we were taking.

The Authority, as we would come to know them, took matters into their own hands. A collective representation of species more evolved than our own has taken our freedoms from us. For our own good. Humans are now with purpose, be it for food or labor, companionship or entertainment, they have been tagged and gathered up. And auctioned to the highest bidder.

If nothing felt particularly resolved when the last Chitauri warrior fell still after the battle for New York, one thing was clear. The world had changed. Super-powered individuals were no longer the remnants of half-believed legend, written off as freak accidents, or simply the pet project of self-impressed billionaires. They became real--a valid topic for political and social debate. For every whole-hearted supporter donning a 'Tony Stark' haircut, there was at least one person who felt it was simply the next phase of vigilante justice (and that it should be terribly illegal). The visibility of the Avengers spurred the growth of more costumed super people--villains and heroes and the more morally muddy all amongst their ranks. If anything was clear, it was that the world had just become more complicated--and out of the shadows would come forces intent on ensuring that not every victory would feel so decisive.

Gravity: Chapter 1 is a Marvel role play group psl set in the Cinematic Universe, canon through the end of The Avengers. The game has a lifespan of between six to nine months with a plan in place for continuation. Our hope is to provide an active and interactive community for Marvel muses that will make the community as dynamic as Marvel films and comics.
