The world was reborn
It was just over a year ago that a solar flare activated the X-gene and created mutants. Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr opened the Xavier Haven for these newly gifted individuals, but found themselves facing more challenges than they anticipated. A mutant riot pushed Senator Kelly's Mutant Registration Bill through Congress, the Sentinel Project is soon to launch, and the rogue mutant Sabretooth is attacking his own kind. Everybody has a secret.


The year is 1999. The war's over ... right?

Everyone has a secret, and members of the wizarding world are no exception. These carefully kept guilty secrets, hidden away in the darkest corners of hearts, begin to come to light when the Death Eaters are suspected of making a resurgence in the year after Voldemort's demise. Catapulted from relative peace back into a time of political turmoil, what will the people of the wizarding world choose? Will they allow the Ministry to arrest and interrogate any and all suspected Death Eaters? Will they speak out against the tactics being used? Will some try to exact revenge by turning in those who've wronged them? Or will those secrets have people treading softly for fear of being arrested themselves?

VACANT. Silas Ruthyn: A former rake and gambler, Silas Ruthyn has a dark past, which involves the suspicious suicide of a man Silas owed a large gambling debt to. He is disinherited aristocracy, and he has moved to Bellum Letale to escape rumors, suspicions and the near-constant probing letters from his nephew, M(aud) Ruthyn.

VACANT. M(aud) Ruthyn: The heir to a vast empire, M(aud) Ruthyn has spent his life with his somber, recluse father in a mansion overseas. He has recently learned of (and become obsessed with) his uncle, Silas Ruthyn, the black sheep of the family whom he has never met. To that end, M(aud) Ruthyn has left the family estate and moved to Bellum Letale, unbeknownst to his uncle. And if he finds some adventure while he's in the building, all the better.

Premise:
There is an apartment building in New York called 'Bellum Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.

It is a strange building.

Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated fable, the stories told to human children for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the fables began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.

Now is the time - Bellum Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and long-held grudges, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Their Landlord knows their every move, and the building they live in seems to have an agenda of its own. People are tortured, people die, people plot behind each other's backs and sneak around and cheat. They love, they fight, they draw blood. This is not the fairy tale you remember being told.
