The Department of Magical Games and Sports is proud to announce that England has made the World Cup Championships! To celebrate such a momentous occasion, local businesses of Diagon Alley have chosen to sponsor an intramural Quidditch League. Contact the Ministry of Magic, Department of Games and Sports with any questions! League games to start June 15th and run right through until game day, August 26th. (The Quidditch World Cup Championships will be held in Wales.)

Charing Cross has a small group of dedicated, talented creative writers who always excited for new friends. We're looking for equally dedicated writers who want to experience a slightly different RPG experience. The mods are friendly and easy-going and encourage player input. We're looking for players who bring something slightly different to the table as well, with fresh, exciting characters. There are plenty of interactive experiences just waiting to happen, so give us a chance and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Background
In the ancient days, the gods relied on Seers to prophesize their next move, and foresee any dangers that faced the supernatural deities. These Seers would band together and hold rituals to See what lay ahead for all beings; man, god, and other alike. Nearly 12,000 years ago, the Seers saw something that frightened the gods so much that they took drastic measure. They held a counsel and decided that, to save themselves, they would do the unthinkable. Combining their powers, the sent all supernatural beings to the continent of Atlantis. To keep balance in the world, the gods did not destroy the island. Instead, they sent it to another realm, where they would be safe from what the Seers had predicted - the downfall of the gods by the extraordinary... by the supernatural.

Premise
For thousands and thousands of years, the supernatural (as well as the unfortunate humans) have lived on the continent and have reached a point of peace and prosperity. The Seers, however, who were banished with the beings (out of fear, naturally) have been seeing things which could change the shape of their world forever. Darkness is coming... who will stand and fight?

Perhaps centuries ago the Ministry of Magic orchestrated a separation of Church and State that excluded the Elders and WhiteLighters from interfering with European witchcraft. But their reach didn't extend to the American colonies where magic was stifled and only encouraged by WhiteLighters. Now it's nearly 25 years after the battles against Voldemort and the Ultimate Power. Both Hogwarts and Salem Institute are open again. But when the peace of both sides is threatened, Potters and Halliwells will have to unite wizards and witches everywhere under a common cause.

SIT-COMICAL: as seen on tv

In a suburban community in a nameless city in a nameless state, people wake up every morning with their hair perfectly combed. They sometimes drink from empty cups. They deliver witty one-liners. Every problem they ever have can be resolved in 30 minutes, or in a very special one-hour episode. Everyone who lives in this community is a sit-com character reborn. They are not aware of this, of course. There is no laugh track playing in the background of their days, no mood music and no set lighting. For these people, the world around them, their neighbors, and their selves are as real as anything. But we know better. We have seen them in prime time. We'd know them anywhere.

Sit-Comical is an RPG where you reinvent a sit-com character and place him or her in this unusual, but mostly reality-based suburban world. All human, non-magical characters are welcome, and though you must stick to the essence of the original sit-com character, much of these characters will become your own creation. Initium is a new beginning. Lord Voldemort is dead and the wizarding world is picking up the pieces left in his wake. The muggle-born registration has ended and they no longer live in hiding. The ministry is no longer in turmoil. Hogwarts is reopening. All is right with the world?

In the wake of Lord Voldemorts demise, the death eaters have claimed to be Imperiused or otherwise coerced into service in his name. Some have been released into society, now better citizens. Among that group was Rodolphus Lestrange. He has become very active in the ministry and is now the Minister of Magic, standing up for the order, doing what is right in society. Things are not always as they appear. The death eaters have reformed underground and are quietly building their army again under Lestrange's guidance, unbeknownst to the world. They are called the New Wizarding Order, and their voices will be heard.

Meanwhile Hogwart's is flourishing. Due to the disasters of the last year, the students have been invited back for a proper 7th year and a proper education. It is a shortened year but it gives then the opportunity to make up what they missed and take the exams that will help them continue on into their careers. The parents think that it is a good idea, especially those of muggleborn children who had to leave the school last year. The DA is a welcome organization and the students may feel free to join. It isn't hidden but honored. Below the surface though, the DE children will also organize and will build again. Leading into the seventh year, they are now pushed underground but they never stay there for long. They will be marked by the New Order and the new reign will begin when the public least expects it.

Initium is an intricately woven game where spies for either side, run rampant as battle lines are again drawn. Each side, both in the wizarding world and at school are gearing up for yet another round. Who will win in the new world is anybody's guess.

It was always meant to end this way. Lord Voldemort or Harry Potter, one would have to destroy the other. In the year 1998 Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, fulfilled his destiny and destroyed Lord Voldemort. The battle was fierce and the losses were great but in the end, the reign of Lord Voldemort was finally over. The battle was over and it was time to move on. Hogwarts was rebuilt, the class of 1998 spent the summer catching up on the classes that they had missed while beginning training in their future jobs. The new Minister of Magic, a half-blood wizard, put strict laws in effect to allow for the capture of Death Eaters and their supporters.

Things were quiet, things were peaceful. The Golden Age, some were beginning to call it. Free from persecution, wizards of impure blood were taking places of honor and respect . The trio finally begain to relax and it seemed as if things were finally well. Little did they know that there was darkness brewing once more. Rodolphus Lestrange, driven mad from grief, had taken on a protégé. An intelligent and ambitious former Ravenclaw Aiden Chambers.

A Call for Freedom

This was the title of the opinion piece that Aiden submitted to the Prophet. The passionate article spoke of the shift in the muggle world, that it was no longer quite so taboo to be a so -called witch. It served it purpose, raising all the appropriate eyebrows. Could it be done? Could they reveal themselves to the muggle world without mass hysteria?

Aiden was brought in as one of the Minister’s top advisors as the Ministry tentatively began to creep towards revealing themselves . Once again the wizarding world was divided, the people who supported the change and the people who thought it was dangerous.

Order members began to come forward in support of it, not realizing that while they were supporting it, former Death Eaters were sending out feelers, gathering a new and more terrifying army.

it's safe to say we all know about the marauders and the pranks they used to pull, how severus snape lost the only person that gave a damn, how lily evans fell in love with someone she thought she hated; but what about the rest? have you ever wondered about the people james hexed along the way, the girls that used to follow sirius around, the students at the lake on the day the friendship between lily and severus was tarnished? they've got lives, they've got romance, they've got stories to tell.

at lollygagger, you will be able to rp someone we've not heard much about, such as mary macdonald or stubby boardman. it's the marauders' seventh year, but you will not find james potter or sirius black here. it's time for the little people to take center stage.
