Mary'd been doing very well, she thought, at convincing people she was okay. Although the truth of the matter was that she was a terrible liar. Instead, she decided to kind of escape and go to her thinking spot. Often, she felt like Winnie-the-Pooh, coming outside to have a ponder and maybe her brain really was filled with fluff and stuffing. She was laying out in the grass, staring up at the sky.

The memorial service had, of course, been lovely but it just kind of overloaded her brain with thoughts and so she had to go out. While she lay in the grass, Mitzy lay on her chest purring away as if the tiny cat didn't have a care in the world. "That one looks like a bunny," she said to herself though there was no cloud that actually looked like a rabbit anywhere. She was reaching. Give her a break.
