Modly post of explaining.

A basic rundown of the start of the abilities plot!

Tomorrow, February 4th, Dr. Marler will be putting his drug in the water. No one will see him; he'll scale the wall and scale it again as soon as he's finished.

For the next week or so, characters who are getting abilities will feel strange. Not ill, not in pain, just strange. Odd little painless twinges all over their body. Like something unidentifiable is changing in their body.

Starting on February 11th, feel free to have your character's abilities begin to manifest. It can be a rapid, instant manifestation or a slow one! Completely up to you.

We expect this plot to last 3-4 months, or until everyone feels it's time to move on. Whichever comes first.

Pre-plot plot post. XD

Hey there, everyone. Lizi here! Apparently I'm all about making a ton of posts. :P

But this one is sort of important. I figure, with the idea of abilities being so well accepted, we need something of a plot post for it. Kind of a plot post, anyway. This post is sort of to get a general idea of who wants what character of theirs to have which ability. We don't really want everyone to end up with the exact same ability, so we're going to give you all plenty of time to come up with what you want your character to have.

By no means is an ability off limits, just because it's already been "claimed" by another player or character. You can simply make the "specifics" different. However, we'd like to avoid having too many people with one particular ability, so for now, we're going to cap each one at two.

Plot discussion :: EDITED

In a brainstorming session with Kay, we've come up with a potentially game-changing idea that could be a whole lot of fun. But before we set anything in stone, we wanted to get opinions from everyone else.

Sometime next month, we're going to be introducing an NPC who has toyed with the virus enough to make himself superhuman. The plan is for him to serve as something of an antagonist for the PC's, but we expanded on the idea after speaking with Kay, to suggest that maybe he drugs the compound's water supply with some sort of drug. This drug would awaken latent abilities in the virus to those who are immune, giving them physical or mental based abilities. We aren't talking moving air or flying or whathaveyou, but physical things like regeneration, enhanced strength, dexterity, speed, etc., or mental things like telepathy, telekinesis... the base sci-fi powers.

There was even mention of making the abilities temporarily available to non-immune characters, albeit much weaker.

This is a vague rundown, really, and the discussion had a lot more detail in it, but we wanted to see how all of you felt about introducing something like this into the mix. It's a big deal, and we wouldn't want to just spring it on you. If there's enough interest, we'll make a more detailed post, giving more detail.

Hey guys! Your friendly neighborhood modlies again!

This time, we come to you with a poll-shaped thing! We have an AU week coming up for the anniversary celebration, so we'd like your input! We're going to have seven options for different universes for this AU week, and you can choose which one(s) you participate in. That's where you come in! We want your opinions on what AU's you'd like to see! We need seven, so toss your suggestions our way!

Also, to go along with the AU theme, we were considering an AU community, so that you guys weren't limited to special occasions to post your alternate universe scenes! If you're interested in the idea, and will use the community, we'll put one together, just let us know!

Scene Superlative category suggestion post!

Hello everyone! As we mentioned a week or so ago, we're coming up on the one year anniversary of this game! One of the things we'll be doing is scene superlatives.

Guys, please try to remember to add your character's tag into network posts. We fix them occasionally for new members until they catch on to the system, but we've noticed that more and more people have been forgetting the tag feature.

Not only does this help you keep track of your character's conversations on the network, but it helps us keep track of character activity. Wouldn't want your character to be swept by accident, would you?

Sweeps warnings for July

We skipped last month's sweeps, but we're picking back up again this month.

The sweeps warning list for July is a little differently set up than the previous ones have been. In addition to telling who is up for sweeps, we gave a list of what you need to make requirements. The following characters need the following activity to make activity for the month:

AU Day Start

It's past midnight EST, so that means that it's officially AU day!

The theme this month is: SUPERNATURAL CREATURE DAY.

Remember that it's very low-pressure, and these scenes have absolutely no bearing on anything, so they can be as slow-moving as you want them to be! It's just for fun and gives us a chance to explore what our characters would be like without the zombie apocalypse!

Think of it as a character development exercise! Have fun with it guys!
