WHO: Maddie and Caitie
WHEN: July 7, 2019; between 10PM and 1AM
WHERE: Sing Sing; Evan's room
WHAT: Ke$hafying the room like bosses.
RATING: Medium.
None of her siblings approved of her habit of stealing, but it was something to do; a hobby she’d taken up once zombies became the norm. She hadn’t always stolen from people. Oh, she went out of her way to push their buttons and piss them off, but stealing? Prior to the outbreak, her family was well off, so there’d been no need for thievery. It was an outlet for her frustrations, a way to have fun, and that was the long and the short of it. Breaking into Marchand’s room was one of those big risk things she’d been warned against by her oldest brother. He didn’t approve of her chosen hobby, but he’d told her that if she was going to go through with it, to steal from people he wouldn’t have to get his ass kicked for defending her. And to not steal from people who had the power to kick them out of the rebellious colony. Maddie really did try to stick to that rule. This was where their parents wanted them to be, and she didn’t want to be the one to get them all thrown out. However, when an opportunity like this arose — Marchand and his band of merry beachgoers vacating for the weekend — Maddie couldn’t tamp down her mischievous urges. It was even more difficult when there was a young thief like herself willing to team up with her. She’d only met the girl once, briefly during the 4th of July party. She seemed like a cool enough chick. A little evasive when the topic of her family came up, but that was fairly normal and Maddie didn’t give much thought to it then. The cameras were switched off for three hours. Maddie knew this because the red lights weren’t on. Udeday, you’re awesome, she thought to herself as she squatted in one of the dark, dead-end hallways, within sight of Marchand’s room, waiting for Caitie to show up. |
