“True,” Caitie smirked and nodded her head. “Awesome tends to flock with awesome, doesn't it?” she added. Actually, in her experience, it wasn't always true. Some of the coolest people she knew tended to hang out with some of the lamest. Like that Rory lady and the stripper chick. She didn't feel the need to bring down the awesome compliment with mention of that, though.
Caitie shrugged. “I only really ran into just the one, so they probably owe me some kind of medal or something for getting rid of it,” she mused. “Statue of Liberty was wicked creepy at night, I'll tell you that. I spend every night last summer sleeping up there, and at night it looks like something out of a horror movie.” A half-laugh was Caitie's response to the mention of the Stone family and she shrugged a shoulder. "They kinda are like royalty here, I guess. They all had super important parts in making this place run. Still don't like them, though." She made a face.
Much like Maddie, Caitie's appreciation went beyond sharing the blame. She knew of a couple of people her age around here, but she was pretty sure they wouldn't be too into her troublemaking ways. One of them was the security guy's nephew and the other was the French weirdo's sister. Maddie was not only cool and nice to her, but she wasn't related to anyone influential around here, so it made her even awesomer. "It definitely is. Everyone else here is way too freaking boring."
"I think my whole family expected me to like Twilight when I got old enough not to be scared of vampires, but I just thought it was dumb. Robert Pattinson looked like a stalker and a rapist," she said seriously.
Now that she had a bed and could honestly agree, she nodded her head as she tossed her mask on the bed. "My bed's too small to share with anyone. That's what I'll tell people." That and there were, like, no boys around here her age aside from that Luke guy and he and that George chick were practically freaking married. She laughed and shrugged. "It's his own fault. If he didn't want blue balls—maybe literally if she is frozen down there—he shouldn't have shacked up with the ice queen. She probably carries them around in her pocket."
Caitie made a face. "Same here, too. Some pictures and stuff. And a couple of trinket-looking boxes or whatever they are..." she paused when her eyes fell upon a small tube of paint and she bit her lip, picking up the first one she saw, which happened to be bright pink. "Oops, huh?" she asked, a little grin spreading its way across her face. She twirled the top of the tube, letting it fall to the floor and keeping the tube open in her palm, then glanced at the wall in front of her.
She clapped her hands.
Now, paint splattered along the wall in front of her in completely pointless patterns. "Oops..." she repeated, looking over her shoulder at Maddie with a grin.
