Hello all! I need to host a naughty animated gif. Flikr doesn't support the animated ones and I'm not sure where does. Suggestions?

So the first of this year's hp_april_fools posts will go live momentarily! I hope you're all ready for this. We've got a great spread of pairings and some new mediums hitherto unseen at the Fools' Fest!
It's a smaller year but a great one! So enjoy the foolishness, share the love, and leave comments!
Remember the artists stay anonymous until the end of the fest.
For those of you who are still running behind on your submissions, this past two weeks has been crazy for me too, but get me your submissions by 07 April please! |

Hello, fools! It is three o'clock Eastern on Saturday the 22nd, and you know what that means:
Read the following numbered prompts and make a (screened) comment to claim yours!
We ask that you do not claim a prompt unless you have submitted a prompt, but if you would like to volunteer early for pinch-hitting, you can comment here for that too.
Once you have claimed, we will reply to award your chosen prompt, and also to give you your very special and foolish additional theme: the Tweak Says which is on the comment page when yours arrives (gibberish excluded), which must serve as your piece's title.

We're on our way to another foolish year!
Don't worry, lovely fools! There WILL be HP_April_Fools in 2011! We wouldn't deprive anyone the chance to do something as fun as this!
Sign-ups will open on Sunday 09 January, so start contemplating what you want to plead for or what you might want to try your hand/pen/mouse/face at this year.
There might be a tweak or two here and there to keep it exciting, but basically we stay the same: writers make art, artists make fic, and unusual mediums are encouraged! Likely, assignments will be done as a double blind this time, so we'll have a prompt claiming post for participants to snatch up what you want.
We'll post any and all updates as we go, including the new rules in the next couple of days, when I can fit it in along a drive across the US. Expect a brief poll later! |

After a slight delay due to a wicked computer virus (What a week, geeez!), I finally bring you....

A fantastic thanks to all you wonderful fools who made for a great festival with an amazing variety of mediums (so much food!art this year). You have my adoration for bravely doing something out of your comfort zone, and some extra love to those who remembered to use their Tweak says. :P

And that's a wrap, fools. (Unless I've missed something...) *faceplants* One day I'll actually manage to type the reveals post as I go rather than have to spend 6 hours at once to do it.

We have 38 40 fabulous Fools playing this year which makes this year the biggest hp_april_fools fest ever! How cool is that!
I'm thrilled to see a good collection of repeat players and some fresh blood to drink. So welcome to everyone!
Your modly sorts will be working on the assignments ASAP and will get them out to you via email as soon as they are finished. So please, double check that you've given us the right email.
I will post to the asylum to let you know when the assignments have gone out.
A Reminder:
For for all you author types who are about to set your pen/brush/crayons/macaroni to paper: You will need access to a scanner! Or a steady hand with your camera (shot straight at/down at the image). Every year some people forget this and at the last minute are begging for extensions because they have to track down a friend with a scanner or go to a copy service. Remember to build this into your time. |
