Cheer tryouts will be up soon! We haven't forgotten! ♥

Spring break will take place March 20-26th. We realize these dates are kind of wonky but hear us out: we need enough weekends for Quidditch games and I'm going to design some RNG drinking games for St. Patrick's Day. Drink your friends and loved ones under the table! ☘️

The game against Ilvermorny will be March 12. Get ready! Closer to March 12th, we'll work out a way to see if we can get some siblings and friends of the cast onto the team to visit Gooseberry!

Remember to sign up for the lottery! Anyone can sign up, sign up all your characters, and do it by the 20th! This event will have lasting consequences for your character, and will involve them receiving a special item. Your character must be willing to explore the Grotto alone. Sign up HERE!

What are your Gooseberry and Hogwarts houses?

Gooseberry: THIS HAS BEEN A LONG ROAD FOR ME, GUYS, BUT I'VE FINALLY COME TO TERMS WITH THE FACT THAT....... I am a Coppertale. The personality test gave me 4 Azurcrest, 2 Fishy, 2 Foxy, and 0 Bearguys. I think that is an accurate depiction of my GB House Journey so far.
Hogwarts: Hufflepuff!!!

What Hogwarts house would your characters be in?

Casey: Gryffindor, however, idk if any houses really scream "Casey." Gryffindor is just the least unlikely.
Kurt: Hufflepuff with a side of Slytherin.
Quinn: Slytherin, Ravenclaw if she had to.

Is there another Gooseberry house they could have gone into instead?

Casey: Levi called it: Azurcrest.
Kurt: lol no. #fish4lyfe.
Quinn: Coppertale, hands-m'fin'-down.

Hogwarts: HUFFLEPUFF. HUG ME.

What Hogwarts house would your characters be in?

Nate: Hufflepuff all the way. If something doesn’t seem to be working, let’s just try working harder at it.
Riley: Slytherin. But like, a dumb Slytherin. She’s willing to be a cutthroat snake, she’s just not smart enough to be top dog.
Rosy: EVERY DAY I GO BACK AND FORTH ON THIS. She’s Slytherdor as fuck. Her personality is more Slytherin, but her choosing Gryffindor over Slytherin would be similar to her choosing Ribbonfin over Coppertale. Slytherin wouldn't be good for her, but she would have DONE SO WELL.
Robin: ALSO PRETTY SLYTHERDOR? He’s basically the opposite of Rosy though, in that he has more Gryffindor leanings (he’s BOLD, he’s FEARLESS TO THE POINT OF STUPIDITY), but his in-it-for-himself,-I-will-fuck-you-over-if-you-try-to-stop-me-from-getting-what-I-want attitude is what pushes him toward Slytherin.
Jeffy: I THINK he’s a Gryffindor. But maybe possibly Hufflepuff? I’m gonna say Gryffindor. This is exactly the kind of Gryffindor I usually write.

Nate: Ribbonfin. Look at him, he doesn’t like fun and HE IS NOT A COPPERTALE ARE YOU KIDDING ME THEY WOULD EAT HIM ALIVE. But he likes people to be happy and he'd rather think things through calmly and rationally. :x And then he could have been roomies with Ravi and they would have just had study sleepovers every night.
Riley: Coppertale. FIGHT HER.
Rosy: LMFAO OF COURSE IT’S COPPERTALE. I find myself like making lists in my head of Rosy’s Ribbonfin traits just so I can justify her actually fitting in there.
Robin: So I had a dream last night that the Coppertale senior boys got like parsed out into other cabins (or something? I honestly don’t fucking know.) and I was upset because there is no other house that Robin could possibly fit into. Like. If he HAD to go somewhere else, he would say Azurcrest, but it’s honestly more likely to be Ebonhide? I think? He’s intense. He’s just not going to be writing y’all poems ok.

A SPECIAL ITEM! boo, i took a raw deal with my ~~neopets quest~~ lottery event. no one told me my character could have gotten a PRIZE. also hooray, memes! i am EXTREMELY BAD at sorting people, so like, feel free to tell me if i've gotten my own characters wrong, lmao.

cassius is a slytherin, probably, or maybe a ravenclaw if i'm feeling nice. i'm pretty sure ulysses is a shitty gryffindor. a really shitty gryffindor. i just spent the last 5 mins bamboozling myself over this.

uhh, ulysses initial character concept was supposed to be Fun™ but then he quickly descended into Too Many Feelings™ territory and now i think ebonhide is his only home. maybe coppertale. he is easily antagonised by coppertales, which, for ulysses, is more or less the same as being friends with them. cash is very much a coppertale.

yikes. so. apparently, ive never been fun even once in my life.

uhhh re hogwarts OK FUNNY STORY so like all friendless swots i thought of myself as a ravenclaw when i was a youth but then when pottermore came out jj made me sign up for the thing and it just so happened that i had gotten my wisdom teeth out two days before? it was fine but then i got on an airplane and i was spitting a lot of blood, so i took some codeine.

big mistake. apparently, my body does not metabolise codeine correctly. i spent the next several hours in truly excruciating abdominal pain (like: cutting off part of my thumb did not hold a candle to this shit), but did i give up? hell no. i took that sorting test from the floor of my father's bathroom. which was cool, except i think the pain made something got fuzzy inside my dumb animal brain, because whenever the question would be like "what do you value?" i meant to be like "thinking about stuff!" but instead i was like [groaning from the bowels of hell] STREEEENGTH...... THE FIIIIIIIIGHT...... NEVER..... GIVING UP.

i got sorted as a gryffindor and it prompted an identity crisis like you wouldn't believe, lmfao. me? a dumb jock? but? i had to shove several nerds into one (1) locker to process my feelings over it. also, these days i sort as a slytherin, so like... who am i? the world may never know.

I flip flop between Ebonhide and Ribbonfin. I've got a lot of feelings. Please don't fight me. :(
Ravenclaw. Guess who's a pretentious nerd.

What Hogwarts house would your characters be in?

Diego would be in Hufflepuff. He's very community-oriented, and works hard on the things he's passionate about. He values loyalty a lot even if he's kinda... hit and miss in that department.
Rafael is Slytherin with a side of Gryffindor. Although he's got a strong sense of justice and generally means well... the way he goes about his business is much more Slytherin. The ends justify the means, and he's not afraid to hurt a few feelings along the path to victory.
Calvin is another Slytherin. He's more of the conniving, underhanded kind of Slytherin who relies on being manipulative to get his way. He's got a little Gryffindor in him but he's not direct enough to get sorted there.
Reid would be a Ravenclaw. He's weird and independent and likes to approach problems on his own terms. He's a whiz at Transfiguration, but overall he's only going to work hard on what he finds personally appealing... which isn't much.
Mackenzie is a Slytherin. She looks out for #1, and has the emotional sensitivity of an alligator. While not as conniving as either Rafael or Calvin, she's still ambitious and assertive and takes what she wants. She might also be an unlikely Hufflepuff for her work ethic and determination.

Is there another Gooseberry house they could have gone into instead?

Diego I used to think would go to Ribbonfin but let's not kid ourselves, this emotional mess belongs in Ebonhide. Just please don't make him join a study group.
Rafael could have been an Azurcrest. While he would have been more chill than he is now... let's just say Azurcrest lucked out here.
Calvin could have been a Coppertale. He would have probably ended up a much more unpleasant person because he would have tried to get in good with Sy and Coralee for the security. Instead he's a loser fish and all these sweet friends of his bring out the best in him.
Reid... uh. Hm. Ribbonfin. He's calm, unemotional, and generally wants people to be nice.
Kenzie could be a Coppertale. She's not much for FIGHT ME but she loves a good competition and could handle all those big personalities.

PIPPA: Hufflepuff
ETTA: Gryffindor with a side of Slytherin (I feel like she's maybe more of a Slytherin, but she'd fit in better with other reckless Gryffindors)
CORALEE: Slytherin
IRENE: Ravenclaw

... I genuinely don't think so? All my characters feel like they're the best fits for their respective houses.

Marin and Meggie can attest to the fact that when I was wee I was a lolHufflepuff shitter. Pottermore put me in Ravenclaw, though. I am not entirely convinced that I'm not a pureblooded squib because I am a miserable person who disappoints everyone who loves me. At the same time that also works for Gryffindor so...?

The internet quiz put me 50/50 Azurbabe and Ribblefibble. Which makes sense.

What Hogwarts house would your characters be in?

Dimi - Gotta be Gryffindor. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation.
Xavier - I could see Zav working in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. He might pick Hufflepuff though because kitchens.

Is there another Gooseberry house they could have gone into instead?

Oh gosh I am still getting a feel for Dimi but I originally wrote that he was split between CT and Da Bears. I think he'd be good in Azurcrest too.
Xavier is probably safest in Ribbonfin where his friends will not encourage him.

I used to think Ebonhide and then I thought Coppertale but then the personality quiz said flying fox so whaaat. I still think I lean Ebonhide with a strong Coppertale pull which doesn't let me acknowledge my emo emotions on personality quizzes.
That explains a lot, actually...

As far as Hogwarts, I'm probably a Ravensnob but I've been sorted like everywhere but Hufflepuff depending on the day so really who knows.

What Hogwarts houses would your characters be in?

LEO: I used to think he was straight up Slytherin; he's absolutely ambitious and competitive. I have not really had a chance for him to try and step on people to his road to the top, but he has no moral objections at all to doing this. However, he really does care about people and has shown a weird bold side on some occasions,so there's a case to be made for Gryffindor too, I think

ADDY: She's absolutely a Hufflepuff. Loyal to the bone, caring, loving blah blah

FERDIE: I'm pretty solid on my Nevilley Gryffindor idea for him now! He's very understated and quiet duh but he would stand up for you or himself in a pinch

LEO: Coppertale; and someone would have died by now of a competition he either initiated or encouraged so. It's probably good his poet side won.

ADDY; ACTUALLY during IC discussion of this that time for whatever reason I think Quinn said that she could come to Coppertale alternatively and so I started thinking about how she'd fit in there and I can a little see her as a TyLike Coppertale. I used to think Ribbonfin but she'd get bored there..but is also caring enough and a good communicator too so. It's now a pretty even split in my head. Ultimately she's a really good Azurcrest and it's kind of pointless to send her elsewhere.

FERDIE: has hidden angst, could totally be an Ebonhide

Z -- Ravenclaw.
Wilde -- feels like a hat stall? i could see him in like, all 4 houses tbh. maybe more of a gryffindor/slytherin. leaning toward slytherin. but like. a really weird one.

Laurel -- she tried to get sorted into ribbonfin with ivy, but it didn't work out lol. i do think she's 100% an azurcrest, though.
Z -- could have done really well in Ebonhide.

What are your GB and HW houses?

Ribbonfin and Hufflepuff.

On the test, I scored 0 Azurcrest, 5 Ribbonfin, 2 Coppertale, and 1 Ebonhide.

What HW house would your characters be in?

Levi is Gryffindor af. He'd romanticize Hufflepuffs and fight and kiss Slytherin.

Maggie is Ravenclaw.

Ennis is a Hufflepuff.

Is there another GB House they could've gone into?

Levi was allllmost a Coppertale but was lured in to Azurcrest by the idea of fun.

Maggie could've been a Ribbonfin, but she was dead set on Ebonhide.

Ennis could've been an Ebonhide. He has some of the characteristics but he would have died from stress. Or maybe it would have made him stronger. Ribbonfin definitely coddles him and encourages some of his more negative traits.

I tried to watch the Roots remake, but I only got about 10 minutes in before I started crying so hard that I choked and my boyfriend made me turn it off.

And one time I got up on my knees on a stool in a bar and slapped my friend full force because he kept insisting that Hufflepuff was a dumb house.

So, anyway, I think I'm an Ebonhide ... Gryffindor? I don't know.

Cricket would have been a Hufflepuff, I think.

And Jesse would be a Gryffindor, for sure.

Cricket thought she wanted to be a Ribbonfin, but she's very much an Ebonhide.

Quiz has me pinned as an Ebonhide with everything else tied in second! And I'm a Slytherin.

What Hogwarts house would your characters be in?
Ivy - Ravenclaw. She'd also make a good Hufflepuff I think but especially 11 year old Ivy would really want to be a Ravenclaw.
Clem - Gryffindor, for sure.
Reece - Hufflepuff, or maaaaybe Gryffindor?
Ari - it can only be Slytherin
Todd - Slytherin, probably.

Ivy came closest to picking Ebonhide, but I think her second-most suited house would actually be Coppertale. She'd probably be a lot more intolerable if she were a Coppertale. No shade, guys.

Clementine's super duper competitive but I don't think she's actually suited for Coppertale on the by and large. Azurcrest was probably her next best bet.

Reece considered Ribbonfin but ended up picking Azurcrest because of his sister. He's not totally out of place in Azurcrest (even if he's awkward he loves making people laugh!!!) but he's probably actually better suited for Ribbonfin.

Ariadne... maybe could've been a Ribbonfin in another life where she isn't so angry.

Todd is like intensely Coppertale in my head but maybe Azurcrest?
