HELLO ALL YOU PARTY PEOPLE. I am a person called Alex and I am here to chew bubblegum and introduce characters. ~~And I'm all out of bubblegum.~~ SO THAT WAS A JOKE, BUT THEN I REALIZED I DO ACTUALLY HAVE GUM YOU GUYS. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.

NATHANIEL BIRD, Ebonhide Senior, Prefect, Former Horned Serpent at Ilvermorny.

Grew up on a dairy farm about an hour outside of Boise. He country. My favorite part of writing his application was all the country music I got to listen to. My least favorite part of writing his application as all the terrible party country I had to listen to.

Halfblood who didn't really know he was a wizard until he got the Ilvermorny letter because, lol, everyone thought his dad was talking crazy when he said he was a wizard. He wasn't. Whoops sorry dad.

Supes smart overachiever who expects a lot out of himself. He was usually at or near the top of his classes in Ilvermorny, gets consistently good grades now because anything other than straight As is, like, not an option. He picks things up pretty quick, so he tends to pile stuff on his plate until he goes crazy because he's like, oh, i can totally handle this shit, i'm awesome.

Your first impression of him is probably somewhere along the lines of "um who?" Because he is a quiet dude, and he likes to watch and get the lay of the land before jumping right into social situations.

And, like, he seems pretty chill when you do get to know him, and he'll mostly be pretty chill (I think? IDK FOR SURE YET), but he is tightly wound. Like a little spring. Or a pig's tail. And at some point he's probably going to work himself too hard and forget to have fun and have a total TEENAGE ACADEMIC FREAKOUT BREAKDOWN, THE WORST KIND OF BREAKDOWN.

Not a fan of the House color being plum btw. Jsyk.

His class sched is HERE. SUP Y'ALL, LET'S BE IN CLASSES AND CLUBS TOGETHER.

I have absolutely no lines in mind for him coming in. ALL KINDS ARE WELCOME, THROW 'EM AT ME.

HEY ALEX it's so great to have you~ I'm Meggie, mod one of two, and I know you kind of from Renn! Now you can see why, uh, I have not been around in that game. :x ANYWAY, I really love Nate. He's so cute and I am very concerned for him.

Diego's a senior Azurcrest, pureblood, musician, and dresses like a granola crunching hipster. Maybe Nate and Diego could be friends? Assuming Nate doesn't find him to be too much, Diego is really warm and friendly (and needy, insecure and impulsive), and will be around to accidentally peer pressure Nathaniel into things. And while their upbringings were very different, Diego's also from a pretty rural area. He gets out so little, he's honestly overwhelmed by big muggle cities. Diego's got a lot of empathy but not a ton of emotional intelligence, so he'll be able to tell when Nate's not doing so great... and then will have no idea how to handle it. But he'll shower him with attention and try to distract him, SO THERE'S THAT. They're also in a few classes together, as well as outdoor exploration!

Reid is a junior Coppertale Quidditch player. He's in archery with Nate, and also might know him a little via animagus studies. Nate can probably tell by now that Reid's unfriendliness is all just awkwardness. His social and verbal skills are really lacking, but he's easy to win over with minimal effort. But with Reid being so difficult to get to know, and Nate being so cautious, I'm not sure how they'll interact. :|a

Calvin is a sophomore Ribbonfin, and a fellow super focused overachiever. Except Calvin's honestly better at gaming the system than anything else, which takes its own kind of intelligence, but not really what his teachers are going for. I... think he and Nate probably won't get along too well, haha. Calvin's whiny and unpleasant a lot of the time, and both he and Nate are easily threatened by people who might be doing better in school than them. But since they're not in the same year or house, it's probably not as big of a deal.

HELLO MEGGIE! I, uh, understand, THIS IS A LOT OF WORK.

Iiii think Nate and Diego should be friends, def. They have a few classes together, and apparently on Thursdays they have practically matching schedules. Thursdays can be THEIR DAYS, NO ONE CAN GET IN BETWEEN THEM ON THURSDAYS. And Nate considers Boise and SLC to be the BIGGEST CITIES EVER, so he feels you brah.

We can have them talk and then adjust their relationship from their ~chemistry? They so totes know each other a lil bit, and at the very least Nate isn't going to be like, "k you're a weirdo," and be mean. HE'S A NICE BOY.

SRY CALVIN, probably not the best of friends. :(

YEAH, I may have underestimated the time this game was gonna take, and now I'm just exhausted. BUT EXCITED. Marin and I have a lot of ~plans~

On Thursdays Diego will meet him on the trail to the lodge and attach himself to Nate like a boisterous barnacle. And ah, SLC, my home sweet home. Diego's visited a few times and thinks it's MASSIVE.

Yes, that sounds like a plan! NATE IS SUCH A NICE BOY, and Reid is too, but he's not so hot at expressing it. But if Nate ever offered him help in archery or with animagus stuff, Reid probably quietly thinks Nate's an A+++ guy very stand up good person like him lots. Whether or not they can hold a conversation.

HAHA THAT'S OK, Calvin's a brat, Nate is better off.

This is Regan. She also went to Ilvermorny but she was not in his house and she is only a sophomore so idk if they'd really know each other? Although she is pretty outgoing, so. She's also painfully honest. And has multicoloured hair.

I also have Isaiah Covington who is a fellow senior, albeit Ribbonfin! However he is a big fat introvert. Looks like they're in Hermeticism and Transfig together? Hermeticism being Isaiah's favourite class besides Music. He's from Colorado? IDK IDK BUT I WANT PLOOOT.

ISAIAH HELLO, Hermeticism is one of Nate's favorite classes too. He loves taking apart the spells and putting together new spells and I feel like they can nerd the fuck out together. Maaaaybe he'll ask him for help on his senior project? Or just use him as a wall to bounce ideas off of? I FEEL LIKE WE CAN SO TOTALLY ABSOLUTELY MAKE THESE TWO BUDDY FRIENDS.

Welcome Alex!!! I'm Marin, mod two of two, and I do not know you at all but I am very thrilled to get the chance. ;u; I loved Nate's background and I think he'll be a really interesting character.

Soooo I have Wilhelmina up first, she's in Nate's house/year. I'm going to bet they don't like each other much, lol. Mina is the definition of a "complainer," she's negative and outspoken, and I bet she judges him for how he dresses (PLUM IS A GREAT COLOUR HDU) while also being pettily jealous that Rhee recognized him enough to make him prefect. On the other hand, he's quiet, hard-working and doesn't try to grab the spotlight, so there's not much to keep fuelling any negative first impressions Mina's had of him. To the least, even if there's little love lost, she has to grudgingly respect him for his work ethic. They're both uptight overachievers and she thinks Nate is operating in a perfectly healthy way. 8|

Ravinder is a senior and fellow prefect, in Ribbonfin. Ravi is polite and fairly straight-laced. They're similar in both being overly self-conscious about how they come off and wanting to never say the wrong thing, although Ravi seems more outgoing than Nate. I'd love for them to be friends! I can't think of plotting specifics, but they were former roommates at Ilvermorny (both Horned Serpents), so they've known each other awhile. Maybe Ravi is familiar with how Nate can overwork himself and how his anxiety issues can blow up? idk up to you. :o

And last is Sylvester, he's a Coppertale junior who pushes people around and has basically no filter between his mouth and his brain. He gets told off by prefects a lot, and acts shitty and insolent when they do. Sy is... a peach. He's probably not much impressed with Nate, who's pretty short and not super assertive.

HELLO MARIN!! I AM ALSO EXCITED. also apparently first thing you will learn about me is that i vacillate wildly between no caps and ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME.

MINA, THE OTHER EBONHIDE (for now). i feel like she and nate should be rivals and/or frenemies. they can push each other to new and exciting heights of stressing out over high school.

RAVI. when i was looking through all the info & whatnot, i kept going, "OKAY RAVINDER, YOU DON'T KNOW IT YET, BUT YOU ARE GOING TO BE FRIENDS WITH THIS LIL DUDE RIGHT HERE." mostly because they were ickle horned serpents with muggle upbringings together, and they had to have bonded. nate was probably sad that his buddy went into a different house at gooseberry, boo you, why'd you have to pick the fish. aaand he probably knows that nate is a nut when it comes to school. he wasn't SO MUCH like that back at ilvermorny, because that school was easier geez, but he probably can tell when he's like, "oh god, i have all the things in the world to do, EVERYONE GTFO I'M NEVER SLEEPING AGAIN."

oh sy, dw nate's not impressed by you either. XD though nate probably isn't the BEST prefect, but i'm sure once in a while he's had to be like, "ok srsly dude NOT COOL" with a big ol serious frown on his face.

ahhhh I totally meant to reply to this earlier just to confirm stuff but YES to all the above!!! We have a few Ebonhides now and hopefully we'll have even more senior bears VERY SOON, but I like the idea of Nate and Mina being academic rivals/frenemies. :o

And I would loooove that for Ravi and Nate. Ravi was probably also sad they ended up in different houses and tried his best to keep up with him, but there's things you miss when you're not living in close quarters anymore. Like Nate disappearing for an entire weekend because he's shotgunning 5 Hour Energy and writing a billion essays BUT Ravi will try to knock on his door by Sunday. :c Ravi is tentatively also trying to ~have more fun~ this year, so hey maybe these two nerds might... be able to... loosen up????

Hi there Alex! I'm Heather and I currently have this gal, though I am also working on another.

Tabitha is a senior Ribbonfin and is not in any clubs with Nathaniel, but she's in a few of the same classes. She was also at Ilvermorny but was in Pukwudgie so I imagine they were at least in a few classes together there? While he is country Tabitha is most certainly... not. Lol. She's way into music and the arts though so she would probably talk to him about the stuff he likes!
