Hii! I'm Kas, I'm new, etc. I also haven't RPed for 7ish years so please be patient while I find out where the heck the ropes went so I can re-learn them. :S

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, THIS IS KURT WOLFHART! The name of an international superspy on the mind of an awkward teenager. He's a junior Ribbonfin who's fiercely loyal to his friends but also takes a while to make them in the first place – socially, he's pretty shy and doesn't open up well, in large part to a stutter than developed when he was learning to speak. He excels in drama and All Things Animals, and will be positing semi-regular quizzes about said beasts through his journal. While not a fan of speaking to not-close-friends normally, he strives to be a beacon of encouragement through the journals. Whether or not this is a welcome event is up to y'all. He's most comfortable on stage and tending to animals, both times when the stutter makes itself scarce; but as soon as he's done, he's back to being generally uncomfortable.

After a year of not achieving too much of note, Kurt has decided that this is his year. It's the year for New Kurt (NuKurt? Kurt 2.0? TBD by a panel of experts) to emerge gloriously from the boy who once was Kurtis Wolfhart, becoming super social and excited and generally a Pretty Cool Guy. But for real, he's trying earnestly to gain confidence by speaking up more in class, defending his friends, and voicing his opinion. It's probably going to take a while because everything seems better in his imagination. He's in drama club (totes his jam), equestrian, and outdoor club (comes with being an animal nut), and has been known to creep curiously on the LARP club from time to time.

Kurt came in from Ilvermorny. His older brother is a failed quodpot professional due to an injury, but an aspiring quodpot commentator/journalist/wizarding sports commentator. His younger sister is starting Ilvermorny (♥ d'aw) and they exchange weekly letters of great length.

I came in with no planned plots/friends/etc., so lmk if something peaks your interest! Good friends, small talk friends (ugh small talk), rival thespians, bullies, people who think he might be an alien and need to know more. Things are sooo opennn.

Hi Kas!!! Welcome to the game! I'm Meggie, one of the two mods, and I'm really happy to have you here and back in RP with us. Don't hesitate to let me or Marin know if you need help with anything. Kurt is super adorable, and I'm excited to see him in play. So, I have three characters here...

Diego is a senior Azurcrest, and I think he and Kurt will mostly know one another through the senior Ribbonfins where... it's a mixed bag. On one hand, Diego is on friendly terms with Isaiah and Ravi. On the other hand, he cheated on Tabitha with Anuhea, so if Kurt and Tabitha are friends, he miiight have some complicated feelings about Diego. Diego's in drama and equestrian with him, though, and he's generally a really fun, if attention-seeking, guy.

Then I have Reid, junior Coppertale, who shares a few classes with Kurt, including Animagus Studies. Reid is cold and unfriendly, but via Animagus studies Kurt might have noticed Reid's not actually mean. He's just socially incompetent, and kind of an odd bird (haha). If Kurt puts out even a little effort to be friendly with Reid, Reid will consider him a cool guy.

Aaaaand Calvin, a sophomore Ribbonfin, is in the same house as Kurt. I'm imagining that like most of Ribbonfin, Kurt might find Calvin... stressful? He's whiny and combative, and a (... sort of) redeemed ex-bully. Even though he's diplomatic and articulate, he's often at odds with the rest of his house. Last year he tried to be a cool assertive king of the hill... and failed miserably, and now he gets picked on by Sy Stoker. But during that period he was probably pretty unpleasant to Kurt.

Aw thanks, you guys are so sweet! :) I've already learned that a dropbox isn't a public Dropbox folder used for communication, so I'm declaring myself off to a good start. Your characters are great!!

Kurt would probably appreciate the attention-seeking side of Diego from afar because it means less immediate attention on himself, but after he cheated on Tabitha I can see him also finding Diego mildly bewildering/frustrating. Kurt has enough difficulty expressing his own emotions and opinions that he tends to distrust the actions of people that he knows have acted blatantly dishonestly, especially toward his own friends. Kurt may not necessarily let the frustration show very often because 'malice' isn't really in his dictionary, but Diego can probably expect a little more eye-narrowing in Equestrian club, and he may take things Diego says with a much larger grain of salt than before. Redeeming moments include witnessing Diego's attitude toward Estella, because Kurt's extremely close to his own younger sister.

Reid is really interesting, and I can see Kurt being curious about him and actually making some effort towards getting to know him. Kurt cares deeply about getting people to feel great (or at least okay), and although his lack of confidence usually bars him from doing so, he might misinterpret Reid's ice prince demeanour as somebody in dire need of 'help' or 'cheering up,' and thus, risking some potential social humiliation by approaching. Kurt may not be an A-type personality, but I think he'd make small attempts in Animagus Studies (which would actually be huge steps to him) to come out of his shell for this purpose, perhaps by trying to relate to Reid by talking about his brother, a failed Quodpot pro who's trying to make his way as a Quodpot commentator and general Quodpot media personality at large. How many times do I type "Quodpot" before it loses all meaning? Apparently, more than 4.

And haaaa, yeah, Kurt is likely overwhelmed by Calvin! Especially with all the talking, and on top of that, Kurt likely isn't sure that what Calvin says is always the entire truth – that would definitely rustle his feathers. If you're looking for someone who experienced bullying by Calvin at the beginning, I'm happy to volunteer Kurt as tribute. He was (and still is) shy, timid, and has a stutter, meaning he's both low on the food chain and an extremely easy target. If this is a reasonable direction for you, it could even be that Calvin's bullying was one of the things that pushed Kurt towards his New Kurt personal project of asserting himself, oh, at least once a year.

Diego's probably going to make it a point to be REALLY NICE to Kurt, because Diego can't stand the idea of people disliking him. He's got a lot of people he has to win back this year, and I suspect he won't be successful with most of them. But since Kurt just comes off as wary, Diego won't smother him too much. And aw! That's sweet. Diego does love Estella, and hopefully we'll soon have her in the game so Diego can dote on her.

Even though "cheering up" isn't really what Reid needs, he'll appreciate Kurt's attempts. I can't say Sy and Roxie won't hassle Kurt for trying to ~save~ Reid, but Reid himself is pretty safe to embarrass yourself in front of. The worst Kurt'll get is stilted confusion. Anyway! Anyone who goes out of their way to liven up Reid's life wins points, because it's hard for him to do it. And while he's not actually sad, he does get lonely because wow making friends is hard and life is frustrating I'm an awkward teenager. He'll definitely have the most to say about sports and Animagus Studies!

Haha, poor Kurt! You can definitely say Calvin was a bully to him the first half of last year, but by now... Calvin's kind of given up trying to be top dog, plus Regan keeps him in line. He's still unpleasant, though, and I imagine even Calvin at his nicest has too many sharp edges for Kurt. Calvin prooobably feels a little bad for sometimes hurting Kurt, but at the same time is like HE'S JUST TOO SENSITIVE, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO TALK TO HIM, IT'S NOT MY FAULT.

I'm kind of pumped to have Kurt make Saving Prefect Reid* into his New Kurt Inaugural Project (Attempt #1), if that's cool with you. It would really just mean more "are you okay"s and "what's going on"s than normal, while others do the hassling because, as you said, Kurt's misinterpreting his attitude and saving isn't exactly what Reid needs.

* ok ok i know he's not a prefect, it's just too perfect an almost-title.

Welcome Kas!!! Haha I was so glad you picked up Kurt. When I added him to the roster I was like THIS IS A RIDICULOUS NAME FOR SOMEONE WHO IS PROBABLY A REALLY SWEET BOY, and you made him super cute. I love that he's trying so hard to be Kurt 2.0 this year. Anyway, I'm Marin, the other mod, and I have three:

Sylvester Stoker is in his year and he's a shitty bully. If you want someone who's probably made fun of his stutter and animal quizzes, Sy is your guy. But it's unlikely that the bullying escalated to worse than dickish remarks in class since Kurt doesn't seem the type to push back, and also Sy's sister is a Ribbonfin junior prefect so maybe she's tried to get him to cut it out? BUT WHO KNOWS REALLY. It might be interesting to see how things change now that Kurt's making a greater effort to be assertive. :|a

Mina doesn't have much reason to interact with Kurt EXCEPT that they both really enjoy Drama! Kurt's a good actor (likely a better actor than Mina, who's a bit of a domineering diva) so she's likely noticed him, but might have overlooked him as person since he's been so timid until now. Aside from that, maybe we'll just have to see in-game? Mina's a tough person to befriend since she's so self-absorbed and negative :(

Hello!! And yes, I'm totally into ill-matched names. When I was a kid I knew a draft horse named 'Tiny,' which probably has something to do with it.

Yeah, I can totally see Sy picking on Kurt and kurt just, well, taking it. BUT NOT FOR LONG! or at least, SOMETIME SOON KURT WILL SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT! ... IN A WHILE! ... PROBABLY!

& with Mina, totally cool with waiting to see. She sounds a little like the anti-Kurt in some ways so it'll be interesting.

HELLO KAS. IT IS I, (D)ALEX(K). Kurt and Nate's default icons both seem to be reacting the same way to a thing. Or they're looking at each other all, "This thing that is happening, we don't really want this to be happening, right? Right. This is the right way to react to this thing."

Well now that we've got that out of the way, these two are in the Going Outside Club together, and the Let's Learn How to Turn Into Animals Club together (though I know that's not a Club club, IT'S A SUPER COOL CLUB) and that is osm. But I also have NO CLUE HOW THEY'RE GOING TO INTERACT? Though tbf idk how Nate's going to interact with anyone, he is a brand spanking new bb character. I think I mostly just wanted to yell hello at you.

MY LEVELS OF JAZZED ARE THROUGH THE ROOF RN!

We can see how it goes~ but for the record, if Nate ever mentions hunting around Kurt, he will be like [see icon] and maybe look some daggers by accident. I think they have a lot in common as per being small, quiet dudes that maybe sometimes people can walk over, but Kurt would also respect/kinda envy Nate's ability to scope out the room and then step in to the participate and draw attention, bc that's usually when Kurt would freeze and panic.

	Don't worry Kurt, I think Nate misses all the good hunting seasons by going to a fancy boarding school. He's more likely to hear stupid fishing stories. This one is Regan Hobbs, a sophomore Azurcrest who also went to Ilvermorny, and therefore may be familiar to Kurt? Well, probably, because she is v. outgoing and outrageous. She's also EXTREMELY honest, so that may or may not go over well. She thinks Kurt is cute, though! And has probably told him s0o.

The other is Isaiah Covington, who we seem to be discussing under his intro, so whee!

Hello! Regan sounds awesome. Kurt probably would have gone COMPLETELY RED and not made eye contact with ANYBODY or made ANY SOUNDS and just fidgeted wordlessly because girls. Regardless of whether it was an "aw you're cute" or an "ooh you're cute~," he would have panicked the same either way. Deer-in-the-headlights panic prob would have come back any time they were in the same room for a while. Girls, man. Girls.

Katya is just really outgoing and friendly to everyone. She is an actual alien just you know like from Russia and not space. Even if that would have been real cool.

and that is all so awesome! TOTALLY DOWN FOR BFFS. There is so much there. Short of last year, they would have been in the same house since starting schools, and they're both introverts way more outspoken via journals than in person. And they have a bunch of classes together. And Kurt doesn't understand the Internet at all but he can try. (If she introduces him to baby animal videos on YouTube though, he may flunk out of Gooseberry.) I hereby announce that his excitement at Chloe's reappearance in his social/academic/etc. life will make him about as excited as I was at the beginning of this comment. Which is to say, very.

I had in her app that she only had a couple of friends in school AND KURT IS DEF ONE OF THEM. She is totally okay with him not getting the internet, bc they can still be introverts together. But she's totally going to try to explain the internet by just trying to show him stuff like this:

She's just an addict tryna get him hooked too. He can come with her to find the secret wifi.
