Isaiah Covington

Sara back with my second! This is Isaiah Covington. He is a Senior Ribbonfin, and yes, his uncle is the Groundskeeper.

Isaiah is a deep, deep introvert. The kind who likes studying and solo activities and especially music/the piano/composing more than interacting with people. People make him feel sort of awkward and out of his depth and also just feelings and no, thanks. He's generally stone-faced, but that's a defense mechanism he perfected over the years of his childhood; in actuality, he's a very sensitive and easily-hurt soul, hence some of the introversion, and his father did not approve of that sort of thing so he's learned to hide it by...well, by not showing much emotion at all, no matter what he's feeling.

He's very smart and very responsible and very driven, and there is a lot going on in there that he doesn't express. Sadly most people probably find him too dull or too off-putting to bother noticing, sigh.

He's also, for the record, gay, and is not in the closet but it's not a thing he talks about and any relationships he may have had (I'd thinking he's had one, two at the most) were not advertised.

He needs: a close friend or two but ONLY a few, that past relationship maybe if anyone is interested, people who don't know what to make of him, people who copy off of his work because he is so very good at working and so very not assertive...and really anything else you can think of.

Also he's the student accompanist for Choir, so there's that? IDK i'm bad at introing.

ISAIAH IS CUTE.

Uh, so, I'll get Reid out of the way first, but I think between Reid being socially inept and Isaiah being so introverted, they probably don't interact much. If at all. :(

Diego knows him from choir, music and a few classes, though! And, well, Diego needs everyone to love him, so... either Isaiah is already his friend, or Diego has been trying to MAKE him be his friend for the last three years. He'll shower him with attention, try to get him to open up, drag him to social events if he can, suggest musical collaborations, etc. etc. etc. Completely your call on whether Isaiah likes Diego, or wishes he would go get lost in the woods somewhere.

Calvin is, of course, a fellow Ribbonfin, and he also has a crush on Isaiah's roommate, Ravi. So sometimes he comes by the Ribbonfin senior boys' dorm asking for help on homework he doesn't actually need help with. He's probably flustered around Isaiah sometimes, too, because... I mean, look at him. Calvin's in choir with him, and like Isaiah, he's a big huge nerd who studies all the time.

LOL actually it's probably a bit of both. I feel like Isaiah probably WANTS people to like him and want to spend time with him, he just has NO IDEA what to do with it when it happens, and also he gets drained by social interaction quickly rather than recharged by it, so he's like..whyyyy does this guy keep dragging me places but also don't stop but also STOP ahh. The music thing is a good bridge, though I feel like they probably have very different taste (Isaiah is more of a classical/orchestral guy, it's the technique that he's interested in, and pop music bores him completely and rock/indie/whatever is only sometimes interesting and he couldn't actually care about vocals much less,) BUT he's probably more open to Diego because of that than he would usually be to people.

Aww, Calvin. Isaiah is usually always lowkey flustered around everyone so he might not even notice? Though he is probably sometimes like ...why is this kid in my bedroom we do not need more people in my bedroom there are already five people here GO AWAY. BUT ONLY IN HIS HEAD.

...apparently I have a lot of Introvert Feels, I wonder why.

Reid's going to be a challenge for me, I'm going to be saying "THEY MIGHT NEVER TALK...." a lot.

Awwww, Isaiah! Diego is very attuned to when people are unhappy, but he's not great about knowing what to do with that? So he'll know Isaiah is some kind of displeased, and smother him with attention and charm to try and turn it around. AS FOR MUSIC, PARDON MY BABBLING, their tastes will be... moderately different, but actually not tooooo much? He's kind of modernized for a pureblood, but actually isn't as hip with the times as he acts. He's not in touch with top 40 pop. Diego's comfort level with technology is that of someone's 60 year old uncle who just thinks facebook is the neatest. Diego started on classical guitar, and he dislikes any music that doesn't sound organic enough, which is why he's attached himself to folk and all its subsets. He does love music with vocals, though, and he's ~a singer~. He's currently learning the cello, so maybe he can bug Isaiah for help with that!

SORRY ISAIAH Calvin thinks he's being smooth.

I 110% sympathize with poor Isaiah. I'm playing two big loud extroverts that are going to bug him all the time, though.

So, I like to think Ravi is one of those people who's managed close friend status?? They're both buttoned up and responsible and studious. Ravi is just more outgoing and has probably tried to draw him out for socializing, but knows when to leave it alone. He's definitely willing to try to smooth things over when he sees Isaiah's caught in an awkward situation. Sadly I can't offer Ravi as an ex since he has a no-dating policy, but maybe there's been a "...do you want to talk about it?" "No." "Okay!" exchange in the past re: Isaiah's relationships, lol.

Haha I wish Sy was a senior and could copy off Isaiah's work. Um, I don't see much reason for Isaiah and Sy to cross paths, and I don't imagine they'd get along too well when they do. Well, Sy would like him JUST FINE for being easy to push around, but. :|;;;;

Mina and Isaiah are classmates, and she's in Choir with him. She probably likes Isaiah—he is smart and handsome and responsible, unlike most of these irritating boys. Oh my god, she's probably flirted with him. Is it feasible for someone to not know he's gay? I'm amused at the thought of Mina hanging around the piano like hiiii Isaiah wink♥wink♥. She is pretty abrasive and domineering when she's not trying to ~charm boys~, so they'd be a bad pair even as friends, but maybe she makes the effort to be nice with him because he's a catch.

Yessss perfect. I was hoping Ravi could be one of the buddies! I don't think Isaiah would really date in his own cabin REGARDLESS, as that would be awkward for everyonw, but let's not hold me to that just yet.

Oh Sy. Zay would not enjoy your company.

LOL LOL LOL so totally feasible. He keeps his orientation on the downlow. It's deductible if you're watching, but if you aren't or you don't want to notice or ehatever, totally not weird to not know. He does not advertise. So what I'm saying is that Mina should TOTALLY flirt with him.

	Since they're both introverted Ribbonfins who are so comfortable not talking, I vote for some kind of silent companionship between Isaiah and Kurt. Like doing homework and wordlessly passing a textbook in between them, or doing their own things on the balcony in what others perceive to be eerie silence. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Isaiah and Anuhea are sort of similar. Well they both kind of like those solo activities, but she is different too because she loves quidditch and stuff. She is the calm, independent shy sort. So they could get on well I think. She prefers to be the listener and doesn't share a lot but does with people she is close to. If you still have an opening for a close friend they might fit? Enough the same but also different?
