Welcome to Gooseberry High! This is the catch-all post for all character introductions before the game's opening on September 1st. Please comment below telling everyone about your characters, respond to their comments, goof off, plot, all of it! ♥

I'm Karissa and I tried writing this intro earlier but it was SO LONG! This is Roxanne, a junior Coppertale. I'm gonna try this in list form and see if it works out less rambly. SPOILER: This is Karissa from the future and it isn't any less rambly.

1. Halfblood but might as well be muggleborn given that she was totally oblivious to the wizarding world until the year before ninth grade.

2. That rumor about how she bought her way into Gooseberry? TOTALLY TRUE and although she doesn't know it for a fact, she does suspect it. Many of the classes at Gooseberry require prior knowledge and she had very little of that. It took a sizable donation to grease the door enough to allow her entry.

3. Sizable donations are totally a thing her family can do because the Barringers are a very historic, old-money family in Boston.

4. She spent seven years (from the ages of six to thirteen) on Lo & Behold, a popular daytime soap. Her character was Claudia Murray. The show did one of those "sudden agings" and her intro at six was replacing an infant in the same role.

5. Rox is soooo very sixteen years old and this is only exacerbated by the fact that she had virtually no say in her life until thirteen. Three years since and she's still thrilled by doing the opposite of whatever would have been approved back then.

6. She's also extremely Coppertale for pretty much the same reason. Rox haaaaates being directed/corrected/told what to do. As mentioned in her concept, she's very spiteful and this trait pops out most frequently when these things occur. This girl really is the walking definition of cutting off her nose to spite her face - she is not afraid to inconvenience herself just to make a point to someone else.

7. Roxie tends to bond very, very strongly to her friends and her friendship can be very intense and even tiring. Because she had such little real socialization growing up, she's got a sort of skewed perception of how friendship is meant to work. She is often jealous of how her friends spend their time and who they're spending it with if it isn't her. On the flip side, her loyalty is top notch and she expects the same. She's all about having fun and toeing the line so rule lovers probably won't be loving her. >>

8. She's lost quite a few friends over the years because she did some shitty little asshole thing out of spite. This is where that jealousy comes into play if you were wondering. Rox gets over shit pretty quickly but others have obviously been permanently turned off by her pettiness in the past.

9. One of the things she really enjoys not giving a shit about is her appearance. After years and years of spending hours every day being fussed over, she's happy to drop appearances to the bottom of her priority list. Her hair is poorly groomed, her nails are jagged, she wears no makeup except for the rare occasions where breaks out the eyeliner.

10. Secretly loves Divination and believes she's a Seer.

11. She was a reserve last year and this will be her first year on the team as a Beater! Girl trained hard all summer and she's got guns. Expect sooo many arm wrestling matches. She's incredibly competitive at pretty much all times and a notoriously sore loser.

12. She loves LARP because it's like acting but without being directed. She gets really into it, though, and has a hard time controlling how hard she hits if she's in an in-character fight which is unfortunate since her characters are always the type itching for fights. Her favorite character was a (foam) battlehammer wielding orc named Ulga.

13. Has a distinctive seal laugh that loves to make itself heard at the worst times. Headmistress giving a serious talk during dinner? 2AM on a Wednesday? Yes and yes.

14. Her familiar is a hairless dumbo-eared rat she calls Nads. The name is short for Gonads because that's what she feels like but she tells her parents it stands for Nadia.

I need to stop because I'm going to rewrite her entire profile. I'm open to all kinds of plot, let's hash it out. :)

Hi Karissa!!! We're so excited to have you and Roxie here. I really loved Roxie, and I'm already loving the Copperteam's lineup. Anyway, I'm Meggie, one of the mods. I have thee characters: Diego, Reid and Calvin, who are described up here.

If Rox likes parties, she's likely ran into Diego plenty of times. Plus, he's friends with Sy, who's probably his cousin. Diego's the sort of guy just wants people to have a good time, although he also has a slew of really unpleasant traits that pop up every now and again. BUT Diego's not combative, and he's eager to please, so he does pretty well with aggressive personalities. Aaaand he's a flirt, so I'm certain he's tried that on Roxie.

Then there's Calvin, who might not interact with Roxie much. However, Sy picks on him a lot, and Calvin starts arguments with him at every turn. Calvin assumes Sy's whole little Coppertale Quidditch clique hates him, whether or not Roxie actually does.

AND MOST RELEVANT TO YOU: Reid! Reid's in her year, on her team, and they have a ton of classes together. If Rox can tolerate how uncomfortably cold and stagnant Reid's attitude is, he'll have no issues with her abrasiveness. He's passive and lazy 75% of the time, and will let her and his other assertive friends drag him around and tell him what to do. When he does make a decision, though, he's unyielding. But he's loyal, so Roxie will have no questions about his dedication if they're friends! Aaaand he's also kind of a lonely, isolated kid who's not so great at knowing what standard friendships are like.

Hey!! I'm so glad you liked her and THANK YOU and your co-mods for making this glorious game and giving me a chance to finally bust out that former-child-actress thing that's been banging around my head forever! You're totally right about the Coppertale thing, I see them being a barrel of bossy monkeys with Reid being a cat sleeping outside the barrel or something.

DIEGO: Yesss, parties! I imagine they'd get on well for exactly the reasons you described and she'd have been receptive to these flirtations despite how I imagine she's always been throwing hipster jokes around and making fun of his glasses. It's all in good fun, he is cool in her book. Note: She thinks his band's name sounds like a Christian band and has dubbed them The Holy Rollers but she does like the tunes.

CALVIN: I have to say that Calvin was one of my most favorite concepts as I was reading over the characters and I can't wait to see him in action. I haven't hashed out details with Sy's player just yet and given how strong his interactions with Calvin are I think it's best I wait a little before saying either way how heavily she'd jump on that bandwagon, if at all. I could see her joining right in if she's friends with Sy but if she and Sy are actually Not Friends At All then she'd be liable to take Cal's side even if she didn't really give a shit either way because of that spiteful thing she has going on. Girl will take any excuse she can get to give shit to someone she dislikes.

REID: AYOOO REID! I think she probably had a really hard time feeling him out at first and likely interpreted his coldness to be directed at her until she noticed he's like that with everyone aaaaall the time. Like you said, they're around each other quite a lot so it isn't something that would have escaped her notice for more than a month or so. I'm thinking that it took them (or at least her, haha) a few more months beyond that to understand each other and to form a solid friendship. I think at this point they're probably pretty tight, it seems to me like they'd just mesh well after they had each other sorted out. Not that she hasn't stomped her feet and screamed at the stars over his LACK OF GIVING A SHIT ABOUT WINNING probably a thousand times.

We're SO GLAD people seem to be excited about the game. We've been working on it for months. Also: That is an amazing description of the Coppertale team, Marin (the other mod and Sy's player) was cracking up with me about it. x)

DIEGO: She should make fun of him, he's a ridiculous hipster and his band is ridiculous. He's a (magical) Catholic school survivor, so he just couldn't resist that Catholic imagery. BUT Diego takes friendly teasing well. He can sense positive attention in any form, and he will bask in it. He'll think Roxie is very fun.

CALVIN: OH MY GOD, thank you!!! He was my last minute impulse character, but I liked the idea so much I went ahead and made him even though I only wanted to start with two. But yes! We'll wait and see how you guys think Sy and Rox get along before defining anything.

REID: I agree with everything you said!!! Reid is pretty easy to win over, even if it wasn't obvious for a while, but yeah understanding people is... harder for him. So it probably took him a few months to figure out what to do around Roxie, even if he started liking her earlier than that. HAHA Reid is a shit when people are mad at him, and he just turns up the sullen teen WHATEVER I DON'T EVEN CAREEEE. But I think the team has probably tried to dump him in the lake for it before. And he's tried to escape by climbing a tree or the scaling lodge to safety.

	Hahaha! That sounds about right. I feel like Rox sort of nudges at her from time to time just to see what happens and then when it's nothing spectacular she moves on. I don't mean that she'll harass her, just that she'll pop in here and there to feel her out. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Hey Karissa, Sara with two!

One you've already poked at in the meme is Regan, who I think would get on EITHER famously OR like cats and dogs with Rox, possibly both. They could have a lot of fun together but Regan tells it like it is and does not put up with shit, so. IDK.

Isaiah here is a huge introvert and would be totally outclassed and intimidated by Rox, but he would handle that by just not interacting at all ever, and since they're in different grades and not in any clubs together he can probably get away with that, so no plot there, woe.

Regan looks like SO MUCH FUN! Rox would think so, too, and her being the sort to tell it like it is and not put up with shit doesn't negate that. In fact, I think that might be one of the best ways to maintain a lasting friendship with Rox unless by "not putting up with shit" you mean that she'd be totally done after a bout of nonsense. I am assuming you mean that she'd call her out on whatever bullshit she pulls and then they'd engage in a bit of bickering and get over it in a bit but let me know if I'm wrong!

WOEEEE. I'm sure they'll bump into each other on the journals. You can't hide forever, Isaiah! Roxie has so many opinions to share.

That's exactly what I meant, so we're good. Expect 'you're being a petty bitch and I don't like it, let me know when you're done and we'll go fly it out' and similar, basically. Otherwise I think they could get into a LOt of amazing trouble together, yes? Though Regan is a prefect and tries to be a good one so it would have to be SECRET trouble that no teachers ever ask her about because she'd tell the truth, lol.

He will try, though. And be so bemused when he fails.
