I bought a reading chair today! Who needs a living room set when you have a reading chair?

Fawkes, you are not allowed to sit in it. It's a me-only work of art.

Unless you ask nicely. I'm such a sucker for manners.

Definitely a tough negotiator.

So how are you doing, with all of this?

Alright, I think. Mum was taken away but I'm surprisingly [...] okay? I miss her but I had weeks with her that I never would have had back home so how can I be sad about that?

How are you?

I'm glad to hear that. ... I know what you mean. It still hurts when family gets sent home, but I'm also at peace with it, because this is more time than I ever had with any of them. I think seeing the way it's affected our parents when one of us is sent home has actually been the hardest part for me, these last few weeks.

All things considered, I think I'm alright. ... there's one person from home I miss desperately, but otherwise I just feel lighter here.
