Well. I'm definitely not in London anymore. Maybe? I don't know. This looks like a village, not a compound. Can anyone see this? I'm pretty sure a homeless person chloroformed me, dragged me into some back alley clinic, and tried to convince me I've been kidnapped to live as a lab rat by a group of mad scientists. They, of course, counted themselves among the latter regime of dastardly brains, tasked with poking and prodding the puny humans to discern what makes them tick. Now, that being said, I would totally discount it if London wasn't (a) not London, and (b) so bloody empty. Seriously. Where is everyone? And everything? The streets aren't the same, nor are the buildings, ergo this is not London. Ergo, where have I been kidnapped to? Please don't say compound run by mad scientists. Please.

P.S. Where's Gamma Block? Is it a street? I have a flat you know. It's on NOT Gamma Black.
P.P.S. Can someone contact my Editor and tell him that his most favorite and efficient junior photographer, Prudence Creevey, has been kidnapped in the name of SCIENCE?

Yeah. No. I'm not wrinkly. I'm in my first girl regeneration. I look about twenties? I regenerate at random ages, but so far it's all been male. I think the double lion situation made things wonky. I'm a wildlife photographer. Only someone else is the face since I can't work with muggles because my face changes a lot. Work accidents. I got sat on by an elephant once.

Oh. That must be weird for you. I wouldn't like to be a bloke.

Fatal accident prone. Do they all look (...) similar? Your faces, I mean. Like do they look like they could be siblings or something? Does it like rewrite your DNA since your appearance changes? Like phenotype thing, and then I would say (...) genotype and (...) yeah. That's complicated. Does your world have elite teams of doctors and scientists and healers working on this? You don't get like (...) poked and prodded right? Like if aliens came to earth because they were brand new and stuff. Wait. How long has this even been going on?

It's a little weird. At least I had Hermione for the wonky girl information explanations.

Yep. Also reckless Sometimes? Sometimes no. It all depends. Sirius had the most different changes. Justin used to be able to stay pretty similar. He always looked like Justin. Ted tends to look the same except for some slight changes. Hermione's differences are pretty different.

Not really? During Vol You-Know-Who's reign, the Ministry experimented on people sometimes. They've stopped that now. Of course. Kingsley took over. Since we were born? Mum and Dad weren't too happy when they came back with a different looking kid after first year. It was difficult to explain to the neighbours.

We each have tattoos, though. Hermione found a way to charm them so they stay through regenerations. That's how you can tell who is who.

Oh. Right. Shite. That had to be fun. Who's Hermione then? I would know her as a (...) bloke, if this all holds. Right?

That's (...) strange on top of strange, I guess.

Voldemort, yeah. Did they do the registration bit too then?

What about old age and stuff? Do people regenerate from that?

Is this a lot of questions all at once? [Colin] My sister always let me, but (...) well. Yeah.

Oh. Um. Hermes. You would know her as Hermes.

It is a bit, yeah.

Yeah. That's why our family went on the run. Mum and Dad didn't want us to get hurt and we didn't want them to get hurt.

You can die from old age, only it takes a really long time. Your aging is a bit slowed after your first regeneration.

It's okay. I don't mind. I'll answer what I know. I had a lot of questions, too. When I first got here.

Ah. Okay.

Yeah. Ditto for my world.

So, technically speaking, if you never regenerated you would live a normal life until you died from old age? Do you think it's only like, super tragic and sudden deaths that do it then? Not like diseases and shite?

Merlin. Fuck.

So. Where are you staying then? Someone told me my flat might be here.

In our world? I don't know. I don't think it happens because of tragic deaths specifically, but a lot of people have had tragic deaths. I think you could die from disease. I haven't.

I was staying with Justin from the Baby world, but he left, so I've been hiding in the flat we shared in our world and making star-shaped sandwiches. They were Justin's favourite.

Yeah. Mine too.

Ah. You're not replacing my sister, but could- I'm sorry. Who's Justin? You'll have to answer a lot of these questions, I suppose. Unless we start using last names or something.

What's baby world?

Oh. Um. Justin Finch-Fletchley. We [...] in our world, we're together. Um. Apparently we have a kid. You can get pregnant as a girl. Which, I guess I should have figured out, but I didn't think regenerating into one worked the same?

It's the world where there's a squib epidemic. Muggleborns are given to magical families. For a while, wizarding people were forced to marry and have children to make more magical babies.

Shite. These worlds sound like they suck. Do you know about the us's in that world? We probably got kidnapped or something, right? Gods. That's rubbish.

I don't know yet. When Justin was here, I was pregnant. No one told me the name or anything.

They do kind of suck. I don't want to live with someone not Mum and Dad. I like our parents. Probably, yeah. I don't know about us. We don't have the same last name, so people don't tend to know us, really. Maybe we can look in the library when we get back to the compound to see if we find anything.

I'm working on a newspaper here if you want to join us.

In his time. For a second there I thought you meant you were pregnant here. So, you don't know if it was a boy or a girl?

Yeah. Maybe. Ignorance is bliss or something, but I'd like to know.

Yeah. I'd like that. I work for the Prophet back home.

Yeah. Not here. I'd just gotten attacked by a lion for the second time [...] that day before I got here. Nope.

The compound library has better records and things. Sometimes the scientists give information if asked, but not always. Alpha is in control, but he never answers.

The editor thing is what clued me in. Lorcan Scamander is working with me. He's one of Luna's kids. We also have a few others.

You died twice in a single day? Do you just like not pay attention because it doesn't matter? Or did someone pin an 'Eat Me' sign to your back?

I'll keep that in mind. How long are we in this place for? If it's not the compound like Hannah Harry said. Which block are you in?

Yeah. Junior Photographer. Not glamorous at all. Basically a glorified coffee fetcher and camera bag holder.

[...] If I say the second one will you believe me? Maybe I shouldn't mention all the other times

I'm not sure. It varies. Sometimes we're in places for a few weeks, sometimes more like over a month. It's not the compound, though. Here. I'm In Gamma. He's alright. A little strict, but alright.

Well, you don't have to worry about fetching coffee unless you want to. Especially not when I'm in control of the paper. You can work with Lorcan on the photography if you'd like. Or whatever you'd like. It's sort of a joint thing.

I'd have to wonder who taught the lions to read and if/when I could pick their brain.

Me too.

I'd be a shite writer. I'm better with a camera.

Genetically altered lions?

Oh! Well, then we'll be able to see each other around the compound. I wonder if-

It's okay. Did you bring a camera? You could use Hector or Andromache, but she's a digital, sooo if you didn't.

Bad things come when people mess with genetics. We all saw Jurassic Park.

Yeah. Cool.

Of course. I have one of mine, but I don't know how much film I have left for it. Is there a place to get film here and at the compound?

Then, I guess we ought to find fault with the frogs. Or the scientists using their DNA.

Oh! That's good. Well, I've been working on connections outside of the city and there's some at the grocers. I have been meaning to ask Gamma for a dark room. There are cameras on our journals, too.

Spliced lion frog genome equals lions equipped to read?

What's outside the city? Is this like a baby planetoid? I found the journal camera accidentally, I have to keep poking at it so it keeps working.

It could? You never know. Maybe it was chimps or apes or people. But frogs could be secretly amazing readers! YOU NEVER KNOW!

There are people and stores and everything. I don't know if it's a planetoid, but there's a lot here that shows up when you need it and disappears when you don't. It's a new addition for us. I used it for pictures of Justin

Secretly brilliant, but lacking the vocal chords to let the humans know. Poor, long suffering frogs!

So, it's like the Room of Requirement became a town and these scientist folks stuck us in here for one big, happy sociological experiment?

Oh. You look like her only (...) older.

BOOM. Got it.

Their lives are particularly difficult ones.

Something like that. They are trying to save their world or something. I'm not sure. They like data. Sometimes they do things like put veritaserum in the water. They like experiments.

You're really pretty.

I actually have no idea how or when to shut up so I would lead a massively difficult existence as a frog overlord.

Well. That sounds like shite.

I always figured I'd be a ruggedly handsome man, don't tell me if it's true or not, I live in the fantasy of it.

You look like [Colin], which makes sense I guess. Which is to say, ditto to you.

Sometimes I ramble on forever.

It is a bit. Some things are stu- really bad here. Some things are really good, though.

I will try not to give it away. I can't promise anything.

Thanks.
