I thank you in advance.

See, this is the sort of lesson you should've taught us in school.

It would have been highly inappropriate to teach my students how to properly hold their liquor during their school years since I am sure they never partook of any such alcoholic beverages while under age.

I do hope I imparted such knowledge upon graduation. Of course, I don't suppose parents would have thought very highly on me to include "And never drink on an empty stomach and be sure to drink as much water as alcohol before you decide to pass out. Cheers."

Of course not. But we wouldn't need to worry about age restrictions if we taught children how to drink responsibly, now would we?

At graduation I mainly remember that you were too choked up over my leaving to even manage much of a speech.

If we're speaking of teenagers, they're going to do it anyway. There are hardly exceptions to that rule so you are correct. Drunk teenagers are worse than children though, as a general rule.

Was I? I seem to grow attached to a great number of my students in the future. Either that, or I manage to impart such care in my teaching that they all feel rather special.

Rules were made to be broken. You were the one who taught me that.

Well, of course you were. I was your favorite.

I'm not sure whether I'm more proud or worried.

Of course, dear. Of course.

If you're a good mixture of both, you've probably got the picture.

Frustrated and worrisome pride, yep!
