I thank you in advance.

Hitting the booze, Minerva? [ ... ] This is Minerva, yea?

Looking for a bit of home, really. In the form of booze.
It is, yes. Might I ask who I am speaking to?

I also have booze at home, small worlds.

Alice Longbottom. I was a student of yours, now we work together. It's a fair bit off, judging by how young you look here, but you've aged gracefully.

Thankfully booze seems to be a commonality, but I meant more a Scottish ale. It's been a while.

I know the Longbottoms. Are you one of Augusta's? I believe in my own time she only has little Frank.

Thank you, dear. Shall I take it you work at Hogwarts then?

I can think of a lot of lovely things from Scotland that can be put in one's mouth, and for once I don't even mean anything dirty. If you find a pub, let me know and I'd be happy to join you.

Frank is my husband, actually. My maiden name is Lightwood. We've a son, Neville, he's one of your students as well.

I do not actually, but we're both part of a special interest group of Albus'.

Hah, well then I thank you. Scotland is a lovely country though I may be a bit biased in my assessment. I would like that very much.

Oh, my, yes. Frank all grown up! Well, it's lovely to meet you, Alice. Are Frank and Neville here as well?

I see.

You might be a bit, but I'm not and I agree with you, so take that for what it's worth. Excellent, I look forward to it.

Time is funny like that. Neville's here, he's a bit more grown up than I'm used to, too. Frank's not, but that could change at any moment it seems.

It's a bit unconventional but it works. Frank and I are both Aurors.

You must be very talented. To become an Auror takes great skill. I would be interested in hearing more about this group, if you wouldn't mind?

Of course. It's called the Order of the Phoenix, but most of us just call it the Order. Albus founded it in the 70s after Voldemort began his rise to power. Prior to his defeat in '84, we were smaller than the Death Eaters in numbers, but we had the Ministry on our side and more than a few Aurors. [ ... ] We've lost quite a few of our number in the aftermath, but not as many as he did.

Oh. Yes. I've (...) heard about these wars. I'm so sorry, dear. It's such an awful thing. I've already seen two wars, I did not expect to live to see two more. I'm sorry you lost so many. I do hope they come here. Despite the conditions in which we live here on, it's a chance.

Just the one war is too much for any one person, I'm sorry you had to see so many. There are a few people already here who I never thought I would see again, so that's something. And Neville so grown up [ ... ] There are times I don't know if my Neville in my world will reach his age.

Lack of pubs and/or liquor.

I can hold my liquor very well, I'll have you know.

See, this is the sort of lesson you should've taught us in school.

It would have been highly inappropriate to teach my students how to properly hold their liquor during their school years since I am sure they never partook of any such alcoholic beverages while under age.

I do hope I imparted such knowledge upon graduation. Of course, I don't suppose parents would have thought very highly on me to include "And never drink on an empty stomach and be sure to drink as much water as alcohol before you decide to pass out. Cheers."

Of course not. But we wouldn't need to worry about age restrictions if we taught children how to drink responsibly, now would we?

At graduation I mainly remember that you were too choked up over my leaving to even manage much of a speech.

If we're speaking of teenagers, they're going to do it anyway. There are hardly exceptions to that rule so you are correct. Drunk teenagers are worse than children though, as a general rule.

Was I? I seem to grow attached to a great number of my students in the future. Either that, or I manage to impart such care in my teaching that they all feel rather special.

Well, of course you were. I was your favorite.
