The first five years of Voldemort's active stage were relatively quiet though. Very few actually knew an uprising of the purist movement was coming soon - and in the most extreme of ways. Towards the middle of the decade, he and his Death Eaters came more into the forefront, staging attacks on the muggle and wizarding worlds alike. No witch or wizard could believe what was happening. Not since the time of Grindelwald had such havoc been wrought on their world, let alone to the muggles as well. However, life goes on. People get married, have children, continue living their lives, even with the constant threat over their heads. Students continue to attend Hogwarts and learn, fight, and fall in love. The fifth years prepare for their O.W.L.s. As they hurdle toward their exams, stress, along with the sparks of conflicting ideas, put strains on students and the relationships they hold, particularly one of Lily Evans and Severus Snape. The pinnacle moment of the breaking of their friendship was talked about for months afterwards. Severus Snape called his best friend a Mudblood in a moment of humiliation and anger, causing the demise of their friendship, and putting into motion the events and actions that would eventually lead to the death of Lily and James Potter and baby Harry Potter destroying Voldemort the first time. But... what if it had not happened? What if James had not approached Severus and found something else to direct his attention towards? Would things have been different? Could it have changed the course of history or would Lily and James marry still and have the saviour of the wizarding world? Only time can tell. Death Eaters are infiltrating Hogwarts by recruiting students within, student's families are being torn apart, and the world is spiraling into a war based on bloodlines. Through all of this, how will Hogwarts students lead their lives? Where will their loyalties fall as they are forced to choose between joining Voldemort or defying him? One thing is certain though: They will feel like they are not in control of their own destinies.

PREMISE
You wake up to the smell of smoke. In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus. You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves. Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. Mutants are stripped of their rights, fitted with collars and forced to fight for the amusement of the world's elite. Their days are spent training for matches, working at the island's amusement park, serving human guests and dreaming of some day getting enough money to buy their freedom.

The Fountain of Magical Brethren in the Ministry of Magic attests to the great spirit of cooperation and camaraderie that exists between wizards and other magical creatures. For centuries, the magical citizens of the wizarding world have been lead to believe that though, they have a sense of harmony with other magical creatures, they're still superior to other magical creatures.

But is that really the case?

With the dark Lord Voldemort gone, the magical world quickly lulled itself into a false sense of security and peacefulness. Most wizards quickly forgot the alliances they had forge to help defeat Voldemort and his followers.

The goblins are growing impatient with these slights, and they believe they should be treated on a more equal footing. As wizards continue to ignore these calls for equality, going about things as they always had, the goblins move closer to all out rebellion.

Wizards may soon learn the consequences of upsetting those who control the gold that helps their society run.
