Rule The First. You are a person. You play a character, and so does someone else. That someone else is also a person. Please treat them as such. In other words, let's be kind to one another, shall we? This means don't cause trouble, please. It also means that if someone causes you trouble, don't be afraid to come to the mods about it if you don't think you can handle it on your own.
Rule the Second. I have opened a dictionary more than seven times in my life. I am not embarassed about this. You should not be, either. The English language is complicated, I know, but lets at least try to look like we have some grasp on it. I'm not going to spear you for misspelling a word, but I might spear you for making a complete disaster of an entire sentence. Somewhere between 5th grade and 9th Grade English, someone explained grammar to you. Reach back and find it, please. I am begging you. The only exception is if your character does not have the firmest grasp on the language. If this is the case, be sure to mention that in your application.
Rule the Third. This game is het and slash friendly. If that bothers you, sod off, please and thank you very much. By the same token, not everyone is gay. In fact, not everyone dates. Your character is more than his or her sexual organs. Play them as such, please.
Rule the Fourth. There is no age limit to join, but if you are under 18, please don't expect to participate in any racy threads.
Rule the Fifth. No God-modding.
Rule the Sixth. There is no character limit here, but if you can't keep your characters active, don't expect to have eight characters.
Rule the Seventh. I am imperfect. So are you. So is your character. That's just how people are. Please remember that.
Rule the Eighth. The sad, sad truth is that not a day goes by without me getting online. This may not be true for you. That's fine. However, please try to keep up to date on what's going on in the game, and please update at least once a week.
Rule the Ninth. Feel free to be clear. Details are what makes a story worth reading. In your action threads, please don't give one sentence responses. They're hard to work with, and create a generally stiff thread. I want to know what's actually going on, and I doubt I'm the only one.
Rule the Tenth. Please have your character's information available. While Severus may not know (or care) that Evan Rosier loves the color red, I want to. Assuming that Evan does, in fact, love the color red.
Rule the Twelfth. With the exception of a few things, we are a canon RPG. This means that all character personalities should match what we know about them from the books. Don't be afraid to use the Lexicon because believe me, we'll be using it when we read applications. That said, many of the characters are siblings (or cousins, if you want) of canon names and you will not find them there. But be sure to mention any relatives in school.
Rule the Thirteenth. Threads should be in the following format:
Who: What: When: Where: Rating (NC-17 and R should be under a cut)/Status (complete/incomplete):
Rule the Fourteenth. Enjoy yourself in this, a GAME.
