Full's on Thursday night so I thought I'd run down the usual procedures for our furry foreign friends.

We'll meet at Hagrid's hut around dark. If you need help finding it, anyone can point it out to you - preferably sometime before the moon.

James and Sirius will be coming out with us, and if you have any animagus friends that you usually run with that are here, you're welcome to invite them out.

We'll be running in the forest, and the paths should be pretty well scent-marked. There are a lot of things in the forest that it's best not to fuck with, but you'll smell those trails, too.

Professor Stirling will be handing out the Wolfsbane potion before we head out, so make sure you get a dose from him. I don't think anyone's inclined to spend our playtime fighting down a mindless wolf, right?

If anyone wants to plan any games, I'm all ears. We usually play variations of pounce-chase-tag, but hey. If you guys have something else that you play, we'll try anything once, right?

I suppose its' a good thing there's no girl wolves, huh? Wouldn't want anyone to get all self conscious while we're all standing around naked in the cold, cold air.

Since Quidditch practice and homework has completely taken over my life, does anyone else know what date the Yule Ball is set for? Has it been announced yet? Because the dress robes I brought with me are absolute rubbish and I very much need someone to accompany me as I see what Hogsmade has to offer in terms of less-rubbishy things to wear.

I know there's probably at least one more Hogsmade weekend before the Ball's set anyway, but there's nothing wrong with getting a head start, right?

ANYWAY. Shopping's no fun alone, so in exchange for an hour or two of your time accompanying me, I will get you anything you want from WWW or Honeydukes. You know, within reason. I'm not made of galleons or anything. Anyone interested in tagging along now?

Oh, speaking of the ball, anyone have a date yet?

Funny question time.

When I talk to people about you, should I say you're my boyfriend, or should I actually ask you out before I start down that path?

So, things have been quiet.

Too quiet.

We have 3/4 of the Marauders in school with us, and there have been no pranks to rival ... anything? Are we all just too busy with Quidditch to get in trouble?

That doesn't seem right somehow.

For those wondering how much my display on the train cost us ... 15 points from Ravenclaw and three weeks of detention.

It was worth it though.

We've got something exciting planned for the train.

Oh yes we do. you should keep your eyes peeled for it.

It's a pity the Marauders won't be there to witness it, but they're already at school, lucky bastards.

Anyone have any grand and exciting plans? All you 6th years got your courses all plotted out? Passed all your exams? No one flunked out, right?

Right.

Lan's grandfather has made the epic error of inviting me to stay at his place to keep Lan company while he's busy at the Ministry.

We have yet to figure out how to break into his office to find out what's going on.

But!

We saw an owl.

Tell me, is there any reason we'd need a chimera at Hogwarts? Is it to scare off the returning dead? In which case, I've never seen the Ministry move so fast and with such lethal means. Chimeras are lethal, aren't they? Three heads that spit fire? Or am I thinking of hydras?

(Also, if anyone knows a better spell than alohamora to unlock doors, pass it along?)

Edited AND NO MATTER WHAT LAN SAYS, I'M NOT LYING. WE REALLY DID SEE AN OWL.

So it seems I haven't written in my journal all summer. Busy doing nothing and all. Not being lazy, mind. Just doing the hard work of doing nothing. Which is exceedingly hard to do with all the hullabaloo that's gone on in the past few days.

I see everyone else has been extremely discreet with their journals, by the by.

Moving on to business, I could use some catch-up. Anything big planned? Any events in the works? Anything at all? I've successfully done nothing and then some all summer and I'm ready to regain my place as a productive member of society lest Mum have a conniption when she finds me laid out on the bed asleep til half past six and  missing supper again.

Right, so, if there are any folks out there who have come back from the dead that we don't know about, I would appreciate it if you would comment here.

It seems important to keep records of such things and while I'm sure the Ministry is keeping their own tabs, they don't share the information with me.

I suppose people who have never been dead can comment here as well since I don't actually expect this to work while we wait for all the information to come pouring in.
