So ... officially off the team.

Mum and Miss Legard took me out on the pitch this afternoon to see how I handled flying. Going up was all right, but doing anything once I got up was kind of like jabbing myself with a dozen hot daggers, right in the middle. Who knew almost dying came with a months-long recovery period?

That being said, I'm throwing my support to my favorite cousins' house. I am staunchly in the field of black and yellow to support the amazing Hufflepuff Quidditch team. Good luck this weekend.

Thought I should touch base and let you know I'm all right. Lily Luna and I were caught too near one of the explosions at Hogsmeade yesterday. She's doing all right, thanks to Severus' quick work. She's spending the weekend recovering at home.

I'm laid up for a couple of days, stuck in bed for the most part. My leg is very, very sore from the part of a building that was stuck inside of it. If you've ever got an inclination to feel what it's like to be a target for shrapnel, don't. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

Death Eaters in Hogsmeade
October 29, 2023

Earlier today, beginning at roughly 11:30, five Muggle bombs were set off throughout the village of Hogsmeade, scattering the children visiting from Hogwarts. While nothing has been completely confirmed yet, there are reports of at least five captured Death Eaters, and two werewolves that are assumed to hold allegiance to the pack run by Fenrir Greyback.

Injuries range from moderate to extremely severe; several casualties were reported as well.

Many are quick to place blame and point fingers at recently returned Tom Riddle, though some are also indicating Bellatrix Lestrange was the mastermind behind the attack. Aurors have made no formal statement in regard to any evidence they have for or against these allegations. No names have yet been released to the press, but we anticipate these details in the near future.

I hope you are well. I escaped with only a few bruises, though one of my school mates is in grim condition and I have heard tell that some others are in critical condition as well.

Are we at all against the idea of sending her to France?

Rose said she's fairly certain LilyLu's been speaking with him.

I don't know what else to do, if we haven't gotten through to her.

Please don't shoot the messenger on this one, but...

We all know how Lily is, and how we needed to keep an extra eye out, and I think... I think she's been talking to him. She knows better than to say anything specific, but... she was arguing recently about... I don't even remember. Something about extenuating circumstances and maybe he wouldn't turn out the same way as he had before and... I don't know. There was something about the way she was acting that made me think...

It's probably nothing, and I could be all wrong and she's being a good little girl and staying away from bad things, but I figured that in the unlikely chance that she's up to her usual tricks I should... pass the world along. Maybe one of you could get more out of her? Figure out what she's on about and why she has this need to get herself into trouble?

Full's on Thursday night so I thought I'd run down the usual procedures for our furry foreign friends.

We'll meet at Hagrid's hut around dark. If you need help finding it, anyone can point it out to you - preferably sometime before the moon.

James and Sirius will be coming out with us, and if you have any animagus friends that you usually run with that are here, you're welcome to invite them out.

We'll be running in the forest, and the paths should be pretty well scent-marked. There are a lot of things in the forest that it's best not to fuck with, but you'll smell those trails, too.

Professor Stirling will be handing out the Wolfsbane potion before we head out, so make sure you get a dose from him. I don't think anyone's inclined to spend our playtime fighting down a mindless wolf, right?

If anyone wants to plan any games, I'm all ears. We usually play variations of pounce-chase-tag, but hey. If you guys have something else that you play, we'll try anything once, right?

I suppose its' a good thing there's no girl wolves, huh? Wouldn't want anyone to get all self conscious while we're all standing around naked in the cold, cold air.

Now that we have a few in Slytherin House alone who have returned and several more in Gryffindor, it seems like it may become inconvenient to only put the task of playing tutor on the Ravenclaw House. Everyone has their studies and I'm sure not everyone in Ravenclaw is a tutor or has time during convenient points in everyone's schedules.

So I'm planning a little study group for anyone interested. Consider it a catch-up course sans the Ravenclaw tutors. Anyone interested in participating should let me know here to plan a time and place. Any suggested topics for a first meeting are also welcome.

If nothing else, maybe we can establish, as trite as it may seem, House study-buddies for each one of our returned guests. I'm sure every one of them has taken steps on their own that are similar, but it's never amiss to extend a helping hand, is it?
