Someone must know something about birthday presents for preteen girls. Is a tablet a good present to give a fourteen year old for her birthday or is that asking for trouble?

I suspect if she asked for a tablet and gets a tamagotchi she'll be disappointed, and I will look like a crazy luddite. Which I might be. Because at this point I might just buy her a stack of books and a movie or two to watch with her sister.

A Tamagotchi could be construed as a tablet, if you squint really hard.

I don't think she'll buy it. But I'll keep it in mind.

Well, it's a gift. I hope she wouldn't buy it. That'd be a shitty way to get a birthday "present."
