Someone must know something about birthday presents for preteen girls. Is a tablet a good present to give a fourteen year old for her birthday or is that asking for trouble?

It does seem like it would make an expensive paperweight if she breaks it. She's kind of clumsy. Maybe I should just buy her some books instead. That way her little sister won't be jealous.
