There is a vast community here, I see, of many types of people. I wish to know what you think about forgiveness. When it can be offered, that is, and what it means to give it. Whether it can help the person who forgives as well as the forgiven. I know what God says on this matter, but I would like to hear what man says, as well.

I'm not certain anyone truly forgives. Moves past, possibly, but not forgives. Begins to forget, possibly, but that's a different thing entirely.

You do not think anyone is capable of letting go without moving past?

I think you're overthinking.

You think so?

I said think twice in my reply, didn't I? Give up on being forgiven. It doesn't happen, and it's worse to believe yourself forgiven, only to find yourself entirely unforgiven the following day.

That is a very sad way of viewing the world, mädchen. Your words sound like you know just such troubles yourself.

It's simply how it is. Little point in dwelling.

I disagree. I think true forgiveness does exist. I have seen it with my own eyes.

Not for everyone.

Perhaps not. But you seemed certain no one ever forgives, truly.

In my experience, they don't. Your experience seems to be different, and I am glad for you, if this is truly the case.

Did someone refuse to forgive you?

I never said that.

No, you did not.
