Tropical the Island Breeze [narrative? open?]
Harmonia knocked, she huffed and she sighed before knocking once more with her nose all wrinkled up. Sif may have said Tyr wasn't home, but she honestly wanted to check for herself. Just to be sure, because this time she really wanted him to have been home. Except that given the amount of knocking with the lack of response, it definitely seemed that the golden-haired goddess was more than just correct.
She was completely and utterly correct.
So with her nose crinkled up in frustration, Balance silently vowed that it was time to exchange her titles in for a new one. She should no longer be known as the Goddess of Balance, Harmony yadda yadda yadda. She should now be known as the Goddess of Horrible, No Good, Bad Timing. It was bad timing that Tyr wasn't in Asgard the first time she went. It was bad timing to happen upon him naked... in a fountain... naked. It was bad timing for him to catch her sneaking out of Nanshe's home and now it was bad timing that he wasn't home.
Again. That was it, she was going to tell everyone that she was trading her titles in.
Sighing a second time, she knew she was going to have to leave another note. This time, however, Balance lacked something to tuck it into. On top of that, she didn't feel all that comfortable just tacking a slip of paper to the door where just about anyone who passed by could take a peek. The elements not tearing it to shreds or melting it to mushy papery bits on the ground nonwithstanding. Which meant she was going to have to go inside.
It felt rude, invasive and more than just a touch naughty when Harmonia tugged upon the massive door with her full weight. Everything in Asgard was just huge. It was all larger than life and while not opulent in the 'everything white, gold and marble' that sometimes Olympus had; it was just as glorious with its rustic appeal. "Hello?" She asked, peeking her head in just to be safe. Maybe someone was home and just didn't want to be bothered. Then they could tell her to piss right off. "Hello?"
Nothing, no answer. A third sigh, as she had wished that someone would have answered her, left her wondering just where to put a note where he could see it. A table caught her eye, a place that might just attract enough attention soon after coming in the door that putting a bright white envelope upon it might stand out. Might. She had no idea if people ever left him notes and if so, where. As she headed over to the table, Harmonia inquired again of the empty hall, "Hello? Is anyone here?" The words were more for her own placation rather than for anyone who may have been wandering the halls. Tyr had told her she was welcome, but that didn't stop the uneasiness that someone might catch her off guard, someone she'd have to explain her presence to. "I'll just leave a note, alright?"
Arriving at the table: an envelope, a piece of stationary from her temple and a pen appeared by her will alone. It took not much more than a minute and a line through the first attempt at a sentence (which ended up coming out in Greek), before it was written. Just enough to tell Tyr that not only did she need to speak with him, but where he could find her.
And no matter how long it took him to find her, there she'd wait. While part of Harmonia wanted to poke around, be nosy and see not only what kind of home he kept but what he kept there, she would not. It was disrespectful to nose around someone else's property and she would only do so if she had good reason.
Simply liking the guy was not good enough reason to betray any trust he may have in her. Tucking the note in the envelope, she licked it closed and angled it on the table to get maximum view if it was passed by.
Back in San Pedro, Herod was most happy for his mistress' return. So much so that he leaped atop the kitchen counter and promptly bit off a large stem from her Aloe Vera plant, running off with it before Balance could properly swat him or her new 'roommate' Maria Theodopoulos could get after him with a squirt bottle. It left both women cursing after the feline in a creative variety of Greek cuss words, before they laughed it off and Harmonia moved to her veranda with a glass of ice water.
It was by luck alone Balance found Maria, a widowed woman who moved back to San Pedro to be near her siblings and extended family after her husband passed away. Nanshe would have smiled and been rather proud that her friend had found the woman looking for a place to live in local Belize and offered her a place to stay for free as long as she tended to it while Harmonia was away. Though, it wasn't hard to offer it to her when Balance met her by happenstance on the beach after a crab got her toe and she began swearing at it in Greek. For the mortal women to come by and offer assistance in Harmonia's own native tongue it seemed that maybe Clotho had forgiven her for their fight. There was something to that whole 'fate' thing.
After all, what were the odds of finding a woman native born to Belize who married a Greek man and moved to mainland Greece, only to be widowed and return to Belize to be with family while Harmonia happened to be looking for a woman to stay in Belize with her. It was far too ironic an opportunity to pass up.
Besides, Maria was good for Harmonia's manners. She was a feisty woman who didn't seem to care if the mistress of the house was divine or not. Feet did not belong on the coffee table and gracious young ladies shouldn't flop upon the furniture like a bag of flour. All of it made Balance smile, knowing that the woman meant well and meant well in a way that wasn't over the top like Hera wanted.
Besides, the poor woman had to endure Herod seven days a week and Harmonia knew that her cat was a handful in more ways than just his obnoxious size.
Outside the air would have been oppressively warm if not for the breeze blowing in off the ocean. San Pedro reminded her of home. Of Greece without it actually being Greece. Her home would never be in mortal Greece, not anymore. The ruins reminded her far too much of the old days, of Thebes and Illyria, and the pain with it. Now, she was trying to put that behind her and move on.
