Something struck her deeply about what Isis said. One statement particularly. "Their women are often left lonely and longing for overly long periods of time." Tyr had verified such a statement when Harmonia made mention of considering finding someone to let know what had happened to him following the fight between himself and Set. That his people were known to disappear for months at a time without notice. It was... worrisome.
And it stung too.
Each time she saw Tyr, months passed between their meetings. Months. Not days, not weeks... months. Did she really want to tie herself to someone who she wouldn't see for months at a time? Someone who wouldn't put her on priority because it wasn't the way of his people? Because it wasn't his way? Both times she asked him to come see her, he hadn't come right away. In fact, from the looks of things, he wouldn't come at all. Balance bit her lip and thought on it a bit more.
Lonely and longing. That wasn't an altogether unfamiliar feeling for her either. Had she not pined after Neikos for months after he abandoned her? Was she not doing relatively the same thing now? Pining after one who would likely not return her affections. That... stung. But as far as the fidelity went, it bothered her to know that she would never be enough for anyone of nearly any pantheon. Gods and most goddesses strayed without concern for the feelings of their lovers. It was painfully obvious in her own pantheon and that of her parents.
"I refer to him as acquaintance only because I know not whether he could ever consider me for more than that... or that of friend. It was what I asked him to come here for, so I could speak to him of it. Not that he knew that part of my intention for the conversation. But now... I think I might have my answer already." Harmonia looked down into her glass and sighed. She needed to... she needed...
She needed Nanshe suddenly.
"I tended to him for three days following an altercation with your brother. In those three days, when he couldn't see nor walk, nor use his hand, I grew very fond of him and I'm afraid Herod has as well." Her head nodded into the direction of a large orange cat slinking across the veranda with a relatively large insect in his mouth. "We have seen each other a few times since then. Each time we talk my heart grows a bit warmer. I was afraid he would hurt me if I let myself get to close and now... I fear that has already happened."
She sighed again. Isis was right.
Of course she was. Out of the two of them she was the older and wiser. Harmonia had little experience in the ways of the heart, no matter what her brothers or mother represented.
