Oh all of this shit was just grating on his nerves.
"Rabastan for the love of Merlin just stand up straight. Stop slouching. Are you going to slouch tomorrow? Do you know how dreadful that would look in the pictures? Your brother's wedding is only going to happen once, at least try and be excited."
Madam Lestrange's voice carried through the open hall of the cathedral and made Rodolphus shut his eyes in an effort to block it all out. They had been at this damn rehearsal for the last two hours and the Black family had yet to arrive. His mother just wanted to do some blocking in advance...keeping up appearances and all.
The sneaking around had been cut to a minimum, especially after Cissa had discovered their little secret. Rodolphus hadn't seen his bride to be in nearly two weeks and he was irritable and just generally unpleasant to be around by this point. Sure they probably should have waited until the after the wedding to get so friendly but whatever. It had happened and now Rodolphus just wanted to get all this pomp and circumstance behind him.
At least he had dressed nice for tonight. Rodolphus was usually well put together, but today it had been important that they demonstrate to the Black's that they were more than deserving of Bella's hand. Rodolphus' slacks and coat under his dress robes cost more than most people earned in a year. His long dark hair was brushed back and curled just behind his ears and his cologne was something from South France. Yeah they had held nothing back for this evening.
His mother clicked her tongue and then walked forward to adjust her eldest's tie once more, ignoring his glaring at her. Somewhere in the back his father was trying to stay out of his wife's way and wishing for a stiff drink.
