Dinner was an utter bore and a terrible chore all in one. Rodolphus was subjected to sitting at a table with both his family as well as hers. Really he could only handle one family at a time. All together it was torture. He was introverted enough that this evening has been emotionally draining. By the time it was over, even his mother knew it was best to leave him alone.
He gave his future bride a nod before apparating away. No point in kissing her and irritating their families, he would be seeing her in a matter of hours anyway.
Rodolphus' parents were in bed by 11:30 and he was heading out. He showered and cleaned up as if going to bed and then just took the portkey to his new front door. He let himself into the foyer and gave a yawn. Despite his eagerness to see her, he was really damn tired. Tomorrow was going to be brutal.
