There had certainly been an air of strangeness about the hotel the last few days - one that seemed entirely out of the ordinary despite protests to the contrary. J'mon didn't often delve deep into esoteric mysteries but this one had a touch of something... interesting to it and they felt so very close to unraveling it. Without being able to look at the memories of every single person affected and compare their day-to-day activities for some similarities - and that was without even knowing when the effect had been put into place - they were forced to rely on other means to search for answers. Some had been affected more than others and one, in particular, seemed to have had a peculiarly troublesome time of it. There may be something to that. But the fact that Jinn had requested their presence again seemed slightly more important than simple curiosity. There was only a small chance that their magic could be at all helpful here but if anything at all could be done they would do it. It was, in part, just their nature. But it was also the fondness that had been developing for certain individuals. They arrived quite promptly, about ten minutes after they had been called, already dressed for the day in a sand-colored tunic and a dull grey-blue sari wrapped and draped around their long limbs. They hadn't had time to do anything with their hair so that hung loose and straight down to their waist, entirely unadorned. A few brass bangles jingled softly as J'mon knocked at the door to Eddie's room and then waited, hands folded neatly, to be invited in. "It seems we just cannot stop meeting under unusual circumstances," they said, a faint smile quirking at the corner of their mouth once the door did open. It was a comment meant for both of those inside but, largely, Eddie. Perhaps there would never be circumstances that were not unusual here, but perhaps there might be. Once this problem was solved. |
