What to do with the board was not an easy question to answer and J'mon merely shrugged in response. That was a bridge to be crossed when they arrived at it. There were ways, though, to preserve the item while severing it from the magic. And it may still be nothing. But they couldn't say they were surprised that it was something linked to Jinn, in the end. He had no doubt taught some of those close to him how to play. And others may have happened upon it by accident.
Once they'd arrived in the bar, at the time, J'mon let go of Eddie's hand and made their way over. For a moment they just inspected it without touching, then over a hand over the board as a soft white light washed over it and vanished again. There was magic to it. But that in itself didn't concern them. With a bit of hesitance, they plucked up one of the larger pieces and rolled it over in their palm, holding it between their fingers, running their thumb over the edges. It wasn't that one. The put it back in place and picked up another, and then one more, before finding the one that had been in their hand moments before.
"This," they nodded. "This is the piece I felt." The black king. It was not one of the ones that J'mon had moved, but it was absolutely the one they had sensed. "I cannot dispel this magic," they shrugged, turning back to Jinn and Eddie. "But there may be another here who can. The young one, Sabrina, she is adept. Or Yennifer, perhaps. I do not know the extent of her abilities, but it may be worth inquiring. The board would not need to be disposed of if you could find someone to banish the charm on it."
