More intent going into the spell was always helpful, as was having something to focus on beyond what J'mon was doing. It was a multi-layered request and it was both needed and appreciated. They could do this without Jinn's assistance, yes, but there was a much larger chance of failure, then. They'd hate to have to do this twice.
Once they were settled in close, J'mon poured a bit of the green powder across Eddie's palms, the grasped the medallion in their left hand. "There is no pain," they said, drawing a line in the air a few inches above Eddie's hands. The powder aligned itself with his lifelines and started glowing faintly. "I have been told it feels warm, and quite pleasant, though." And with that, he hovered his hands over Eddie's and closed his eyes, breathing in deeply as a faint golden glow filled the space between their palms.
It took a moment, and the glow did feel soft and warm. The green residuum was slowly absorbed by J'mon's spell, disappearing to nothing, leaving behind just a slow pulse of stillness between the three of them. Then J'mon's eyes flashed open, consumed by a hot molten brass. The always present scent of metal seemed to only grow hotter for a moment and they slowly flicked their fingers as if flipping pages in a book.
"The connection is severed," they said, after a few long moments of searching. "But there is something here. It is a little thing. Hiding. But just..." They made a motion as if plucking something from Eddie's hands. "There. I cannot see it. But it feels..." They rolled the unseen thing between their fingers and gently tipped their head to the side, thoughtful, intensely curious. "Small. Organic. And it appears to be anchored to something."
