Inspired by the muggle notion that the world would end at midnight on 21st december 2012, Martin is heading up a party on the 20th (Tuesday) at Renegades. This is a private party and everyone in the Order/Hiding is invited (yes Fabian, even you). This is separate from Christmas and New Years Eve, it’s just a fun excuse to congregate and drink on a Tuesday.

Even though this event isn’t open to the public, everyone is advised not to talk about magic because Martin’s girlfriend Rose will be there starting at 10 (after her shift waitressing). She’s the same Rose he’s been fawning over for a year, but they made it official a few months ago. Her understanding of how they all know each other is that Sirus and James have a lot of friends and family. We’re all connected by the rich guys who own the bar not because we are a secret society of wizards.

The optional dress theme is “wear your ghost outfit,” meaning what you would hope to be wearing if you suddenly died and had to wear the same outfit for eternity. It’s a bit morbid, but Martin thinks he’s quite funny. This is a very low pressure theme, and his outfit is just a nice version of what he usually wears.

At some point during the celebration, Luna hands out golden envelopes containing hand-stamped Christmas cards adorned with holly and ivy. Inside each card is a glossy copy of this image, along with a short explanation of what they’re seeing. Surprise! Luna is pregnant! We’re expecting this summer!

Martin's Spring Festival Party

The party in 2008 has a post here, and this event is the refined older brother of the original.

Because Chinese New Year was on a weeknight in 2011, the New Year’s Eve dinner will be a smaller party of 11ish rather than an open invitation all-day affair. It will still be at Headquarters, so anyone living there gets an automatic invitation.

Date and Time: The evening on the first Wednesday in February.
Attendees: Martin, Fabian, Ax, Theo, Dorcas, Sirius, Aurora, Lyra, Luna, Bill, and Ginny(?).
Decor: Everything is lit up with lanterns illuminated by vials of liquid light. The decor in general is very similar to the first party, with less of a lockdown diy element. Theo helped with almost all of the decorations, so expect a lot of intricate little details.
At the end of the night, in lieu of fireworks, Theo and Martin dim the lanterns to reveal the ceiling is alive with glittering lights that flicker in and out of existence like fireflies.
Menu: The best dim sum you’ve ever had.
Happenings: If you have anything you want your character to do at the party you can write a comment but no pressure.

I’m writing more stuff but this is a placeholder for now.
