If you have children, what are their names?

If you don't have children, what would you name them if you did?

You can say why if you want, but you don't have to. I'm curious what people do in other places.

John Hadley Nicanor Hemingway. We always called him Jack, or Bumby when he was a baby. Hadley was his mother's name, she complained that men always get to name the children after them, so we named him after her instead. Nicanor was a matador.

Patrick Miller Hemingway. Miller is my middle name, and an old family name.

Gregory Hancock Hemingway. Hancock was a founding father of my country, your man Hamilton might know him personally in fact.

Miller Hemingway, a girl, we called her Millie most of the time. I didn't know her for very long. Time line bullshit.

He's not my man I like those. You're good at choosing names that sound right together. But what's a matador?

And do you like 'Miller' better than 'Ernest'?

A matador is a bullfighter.

Yes. I never go by Miller, most people call me Hemingway or Papa. There was a play, The Importance of Being Earnest, and... well, the name ended up having more than a double meaning, it ended up a euphemism for homosexual. Laugh it off the first few times, pretty damn wearing after the tenth person tells you.

Someone who fights with the spirit of a bull? At least I hope that's

I mean you very obviously aren't. It seems a strange thing to joke about. I was thinking about Ernest for the baby, to remember you by when I'm back on Rica, but I won't if you wouldn't like it.

No, someone who fights a bull. Professionally. It is a competitive sport in parts of Spain.

Oh that's actually really sweet of you. I'm sure he wouldn't have the same issue, it was very much an era specific annoyance. No one here, or presumably on Rica, would know what I was talking about.

That sounds like it could be deadly!

No, they wouldn't know it on Rica, and Ernest sounds like it could be a Rican name anyway, he'd fit right in with Reason and Integrity. I'd like to. Ernest Becket sounds good, don't you think?

It can be, yeah. More often they get gored. I did once, in Pamplona, when they were running the bulls. Hurt like hell.

I think it sounds fantastic, he sounds very important and successful.
