It has come to my attention, that two people were shot... Because we are afraid of each other. Even if that wasn't the reason, I feel it is long past time for a "town-hall" meeting. It has been years, enough years that I don't think, besides a handful, that any of you attended the last one we had.

I would like to see every single one of you in attendance, young and old, men, women, children, and in between. There is a large amphitheater classroom in the University that will seat everyone, and then some, comfortably.

We do not need to be afraid of each other here, because I don't doubt there will come a time that we well need each other, again. I'm not being dramatic, but I'm talking life and death need, not just because one or the other has a useful skill that would make life easier.

So please, help me end this, and bring us all together again.

Edit: There will be drinks and snacks.

	Not really? We just had the meetings before, and then the man that held the meetings died... As far as laws go, they're unwritten, but the same as basic laws of most of the worlds. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

There are people from all kinds of worlds here. What is acceptable in my world and time isn't always going to be acceptable in yours, and vice versa.

How do you introduce newcomers to what is expected of them here? You can't just rely on common sense, what is common sense in one world will sound insane in another. I think we should write them, together, as a community. We have a chance here to build a nation, I don't think we can leave that to luck and chance.

	Well, I haven't come across one where theft and murder weren't largely frowned upon at least. We're a little small to think about being a nation, Mr. Hamilton. But you clearly have more experience than I do, because I'm horrible at this simple venture, you're welcome to take over, with Katherine of course, because she oozes charisma. Theft is a tricky one here, though, for a rule you’d consider so basic at first glance.

Size has very little to do with it. We are a community of people inhabiting a defined territory, seeking to clarify our core values and shared beliefs. This is a fantastic opportunity and I don’t think we need to be unambitious about it if we don’t want to be.

I don't know, that's not an issue that's come up before. I don't know about any one else, but my door doesn't open to just anyone, instead it alerts me that I have a visitor.

I guess there's no harm in seeing what the masses want.

Good, because I'm bad at getting people to want to gather, unless the situation is dire. So rather than dealing with hurt feelings I'm happy to let anyone else have it.
