It has come to my attention, that two people were shot... Because we are afraid of each other. Even if that wasn't the reason, I feel it is long past time for a "town-hall" meeting. It has been years, enough years that I don't think, besides a handful, that any of you attended the last one we had.

I would like to see every single one of you in attendance, young and old, men, women, children, and in between. There is a large amphitheater classroom in the University that will seat everyone, and then some, comfortably.

We do not need to be afraid of each other here, because I don't doubt there will come a time that we well need each other, again. I'm not being dramatic, but I'm talking life and death need, not just because one or the other has a useful skill that would make life easier.

So please, help me end this, and bring us all together again.

Edit: There will be drinks and snacks.

Well, I hope, no matter how long you're here, you don't get a taste of what I got.

Sometimes when it's really far fetched, it's believable. But that's really sweet.

I can actually to both, my ex-wife has already promised some of her famous Zap apple cookies, and apple fritters.

Thanks.

What can I say, I'm sweeter under all the vinegar.

Your ex-wife? That sounds great, but what's zap about the apple?

Well, I hope the letters go back with you then, even if she thinks you're on the powder. They shouldn't be wasted on us.

It's a long story, but I was in a polygamous marriage, with two men and a woman, and when our husbands vanished... Lets just say I have too much vinegar to have made it work, and we parted as friends instead of something worse later.

When they're ripe for picking, which must be done as soon as they bloom, they make a crack like lightning, so I'm guessing that's how they got their name. They're special apples that don't spoil, the skin is rainbow striped, and they're better than any apple you've ever had.

Thank you.

I see. Is that something that is commonplace where you are from, or here on the station?

Interesting! I look forward to trying them.

I only wish the best for people, who haven't done me, or mine, harm. I know it doesn't seem like that...

Well, I'm from the United States, it's not exactly legal there. And it's not exactly commonplace here, it's just encouraged for there to be romantic freedom.

I'll bring you some zap apples too, just remember to save the seeds.

Chill. It's all good.

So am I. When are you from? I guess that makes sense, seems a strange thing to bother legislating in a place like this.

Thank you, I will.

I kind of know that, because I'm from 2017, and you're kind of famous.

I don't know why they legislate it in my time, it doesn't hurt anybody if it's between consensual adults.

Oh, hell yes!

Wait, for a good reason, and not as the guy who got the army fucking massacred by the Brits, right?

I get the impression marriage isn’t the same sort of contract in the future. I would imagine there would be a lot of fraud in terms of estates and moving money between families.

Well I can't tell you more than that! I don't know when you're from. But... you didn't get the army fucking massacred. It's a good reason.

I don't really know, I can't say I ever studied a marriage contracts from the past... but, you do make a fair point. I'm not going to get married if I ever go home, anyway, so it doesn't exactly matter.

1781. That’s amazing. I’m sure my ego could’ve done without it, but I’m definitely not complaining.

Why not?

Battle of Yorktown? You probably don't know it as that... usually these names don't come up until after.

Because I'm fairly certain I'll die minutes after I get there.

Well, there was a battle, and I was in Yorktown, so yeah, probably that. So, you see why I was viewed as a legitimate threat by the colonel. Twitchy and unpredictable at best, armed madman at worst. He did right.

Oh, shit. Nothing that can be done?

I guess, if I were to play devil's advocate, which isn't difficult because I adore Rawdon. And I don't know when the term Rose colored glasses came to be... but he's a charming fellow that can pretty much do no wrong. Plus that voice...

Unfortunately no, I don't think so. My husband was from before I was born, I think I can't bare it to look back at messages, posts and emails it's too painful, so unless he remembered me, which I doubt when people remember this place it's usually hazy at best, no one's coming to my rescue. And no one else was, from my world, that know. Shortly before I was kidnapped from my world, I was shot in the shoulder by sniper's bullet.

Well, damn, I think I'll leave you alone with that thought!

I'm sorry. I hope then that you have a long and prosperous life here instead.

Mister Hamilton are you trying to get me shot? I was thinking he would be an excellent singer, sir. Nothing filthy had entered my mind.

I've had one. One that I wouldn't have had even if I live, were I there.

Oh! Well, more fool me. My apologies, I forget myself.

Then I’m glad for you. I never thought I make it past 20. I guess long life depends on your context, after all.

The key word was had. The seed has been planted. Now I'm thinking of how tall he is. And then there is the uniform. What's a woman with weak morals to do, Mr Hamilton?

From what I understand I have the possibility of living past 100, as long as I stay here.

You're asking the wrong man. Pray??

Is that common here?

I may be too far out of reach for prayer.

Not really, it's not even common for my kind. I'm just a freak of freaks.
