Hi all,

I would like to invite everyone for a little gathering in the Halls of Asgard this Friday. Maryanne has so kindly offered to help our kitchen prepare the food. Which means it is going to be amazing.

There will be a buffet and as much drink as you can imagine (both alcoholic and non alcoholic). We have a band for entertainment but if anyone else wants to play a few songs, there will be instruments there for people to use. I certainly plan on playing a few songs. If someone would like to team up for a duet, I would love it.

I am also sure if you can coax a member of my family into a tour around the palace if you wish one.

Please let me know of any dietary requirements. To make it clear, everyone is welcome (yes, that includes you, Brenna).

Katherine

I suppose I am an exception to that rule. But, my "real" family is something I would not really like to speak of at this moment.

You are correct on the latter. But, family is not always whose blood is flowing through your veins, sometimes you find you family.

There is no need.

That depends on how you define it and who you speak to. My adoptive grandmother was a lady from the late 19th century. She would harshly refute your view. For her, family was a very specific term. Marriage or child rearing: the two only legitimate ways to extend a family. Everything else was modern nonsense. But she cared much more for terminology than I did. It's the sentiment and meaning behind it that counts.

Perhaps after my transfer. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for it.

This is true, some people do feel that way. I do not, terminology is just that: a label. But, I can see why people can feel that way. Blood is more important than sentiment to some.

Johnn, you need not worry about it. My information is given freely and without any demand for information in return.

I don't think it had anything to do with 'feelings' per se. It just did not make any sense to her to use that word for what you describe. For her, it would be like calling a blueberry a strawberry to showcase how much like blueberries because strawberries are one of the most adored berries in culture.

I appreciate that, Kat. But I do prefer an exchange, if that makes sense?

Then, I suppose that makes sense. I take it, she was more of a literal person, then?

I've barely said anything about mine, except that they were complicated,Johnn. There is no need. Unless you want someone to listen to your story... then I would be happy to listen.

She is just a person from a different time who grew up in a different culture.
