So, since it seems like more and more kids are coming all the time, and more and more kids are reaching school age, I've been doing some organizing for the school.

We decided to split everything in to 4 basic groups so that there aren't lots of classes with only one or two kids per group. It'll be a bit more like one-room schoolhouses than modern education for those familiar with the systems from Earth.
Littles (under 5)
Basics (5-8)
Formal (9-16 or anyone who didn't have a formal education where they're from and wants one)
Continuing (add-on classes for anyone)

I've gotten together a few extra classrooms so there will be regular places for the two younger groups and one for each of the older ones, though I know some of the teachers for the older groups have their own spaces too (and some need to take place outside of classrooms) so those ones can move around as needed.

Obviously, this is a massive group effort and we can tailor it as-needed so if anyone has anymore suggestions for classes they'd like or feel like they need or things they want to teach, just let me know and we can figure it out.

We can start Monday after next to let all the new kids get settled first.

Monday-Friday, 1-4pm

Littles playgroup: Mary Ellen and ?

under 5 y.o.
learning basics like colors, speech, shapes, alphabet through play

Basic Education: Darcy Lewis and Clint Barton-Stark
5-8 y.o.
regular classes as well as hands-on learning for: reading, writing, basic math, science, and technology (how to use phones, computers, etc.) along with things like phys ed, art classes and some handi-crafts (classes taught in English and ASL)

Formal Education
8-16 y.o. or anyone without an advanced education from their own world
Continuation of the previous level with split classes where kids can decide which to take and which not to. Exact curriculums of the classes can be figured out between the teachers and people taking them.

  • English (reading/writing) - Jack Torrance

  • Math - Tommy Sully

  • Physics - Tommy Sully

  • Biology - Miguel O’Hara

  • Chemistry - Miguel and/or Tommy. Possibly Sarah as well? Basically, Tommy and Miguel (and Sarah if she wants to join in) can divide the Sciences up between them for this age group.

  • Technology/STEM - Multiple teachers, probably. Miguel and Tommy again?

  • Arts - Steve Rogers

  • French - Adam

  • Cooking Basics - Bucky Barton-Stark

  • Music - Maryanne Barton-Stark

Occasional Classes/Continuing Education
Open to any/all

  • Cooking 101 (aka: How to feed yourself things other than eggs and sandwiches)-Bucky Barton-Stark; once/week, Monday evenings in his cafe

  • Basic Technology for Adults (how to use phones, computers, netflix, etc.)-Darcy Lewis; once/month as needed

  • ASL-Clint Barton; once/week as needed

  • Science-Miguel (specialising in Biology and very specifically, Genetics)

  • Science-Tommy (specialising in Physics and very specifically, Astronomy)

  • Fighting with a weapon- Obi-Wan/Ben, Jake

  • Hand-to-Hand Self-Defense-Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes; once/month

  • Outdoor Experience (Scouts-type group/outdoor survival)-Hemmingway; once/week

  • Sex Ed (including birtch control, various genders and sexual orientations, etc.)-Miguel O’Hara and Mary Ellen Winchester; once/3 months as needed

There was also some discussion of classes for magic users and/or people with psychic powers, so we could set those up as soon as we figure out what's needed?

Yeah of course, or Belle offered to lead a literacy class for adults which would probably help too, if you're more comfortable with that.

I also wanted to see if I could get your help. You used to do printing right? I wanted to set up a bulletin board in the food court so people could keep track of when things were happening and would probably need some help making it look nice and keeping it updated.

It may be helpful as we also share the French. I will attend both, and see which is most useful, or perhaps simply continue both.

Yes, it's true. I'm sure my skills are now very old, but I'm happy to help you if I can.
