I was trying to think of some sort of cool introduction, and then I remembered that I'm really not cool. So, then I proved I was 'really not cool' by trying to come up with some sort of pun or catchphrsae introduction. But uh... embarrassing!

So let's go traditional: Hello, I'm Ciaran, it's incredibly fucking weird to be here.

Well, I mean, I've had worse. And I agree. If you're going to steal lines from anyone, it's got to be them.

Fucking mental. How long have you been here?

I didn't steal Squire from them. Probably picked it up from somewhere back home. Doesn't matter much anyway.

Nearly a couple of weeks. Haven't been here long myself. So where did you come from?

Yeah, I was only joking man.

Oh, so your relatively new around here too. I came from London (2019), but I'm from Dublin originally. You?

I'm from Liverpool, mate. Think it was 2018 when I left. Time got a bit foggy for a while. Apparently we're in a different universe.

Oh, wow! Well, that's a little closer to home than most people I've spoken to. Are we? I mean, I knew we were "in space", but a completely different universe?

Looks that way, mate. I couldn't recognise any of the constellations outside. There's a lot to learn about this place.

So what did you do in London?

Does that necessarily mean different universe? Why do you not think it’s an undiscovered part of the same universe?

I’m a priest. You?

A fair point.

A priest? This should be interesting. I'm an exorcist, occult expert, conjurer, demonologist and master of the dark arts. I work on the side of the Angels, mate. And I don't do kids parties.

That all sounds very apocalyptic. You might have to break that down for me a little there. What the hell is a master of the dark arts?

I don’t do kids parties either, that’s kind of frowned upon these days.

It's rather simple really. It's someone who has mastery over the dark arts. Black magic. Necromancy. There's an entire smorgasbord of dark magic.

Priest with a sense of humour? Well that's good to know.

Alright. But you say you're on the side of the angels?

Oh, yeah, you've got to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes.

Absolutely, mate. Magic's magic. It's how you use it that counts.

Well, the church certainly makes that easier.

Oh, well. Guess we're on the same team, then.

There is a lot of the ridiculous about it. You don't have a good relationship with the church?

Well, that's good to know.

I have a... complicated relationship with the church. I'm a humanist. But I know there's a lot of truth in the scripture. And Hell and Heaven are real.

Sure, sure.

A lot of people do, and well there's a lot to be said for humanist values. I'd have had you pegged more as a pagan or a satantist or something when you first started talking there now.

I'm a believer. I know there are Gods and Angels, Demons and spirits. I used to speak to a bloody Angel. But I wouldn't say I was a Pagan, or a Satanist. Lucifer and his brood aren't getting any prayers from me, mate. But neither is God.
